Don’t know.Who were the Nicolaitans?
How did you come to that?People who try to lord it over God's children, who are all equals in the body of Christ.
My first study Bible, "Revelation 2:6New Who were the Nicolaitans?
From nikao, "to conquer," and laos, "the people," or "laity."
If the word is symbolic it refers to the earliest form of the notion of a priestly order, or "clergy," which later divided an equal brotherhood Matthew 23:8 into "priests" and "laity."
What in Ephesus was "deeds" Revelation 2:6 had become in Pergamos a "doctrine Revelation 2:15.
EX-ACTLY!
IMHO.
This was the beginning stages of what developed into the Hierarchical structures in the government of 'churches', which God Hates.
Revelation 2:15; "So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate."
God the Father Placed Jesus as the Head of each of His Individual church assemblies, which are to be congregational and democratic.
Ephesians 1:22; "And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,"
One member = one vote.
The pastor = one vote.
Can the pastor, then, be 'voted down'?
Of course. It happens. On little insignificant junk, generally speaking, but yeah.
That's the way God Planned it.
Exactly, IMHO.
True that.
