Nice. Deal in smut and personal attacks. And then repeat them on the BB. And people say the Republicans are bad at this. Bill Maher is one of hte most arrogant, uninformed people in public life. He should stick to comedy. I saw a bit of him on LKL last night, and am still amazed at how he gets any interviews. He is a political hack who doesn't know much.

I'm curious as to why you would bring up this subject, so soon after a bitter loss by these same Republicans. It seems a bit like wanting to further punish the Republican party for some political agenda and not for spiritual consolation.

Duh, maybe because it is NEWS! I heard it last night for the first time watching Bill Maher on Larry King Live, and this seems a reasonable subject to discuss. If it bothers you in the least, feel free to move on to another topic.

Actually, this rumor has been around for several years, at least since Mehlman took his current position. So it looks like you are the one who doesn't know politics very well.

Not all of us are all-knowing.

Like I said, last night was the first time I have heard this and I keep up somewhat with politics. Also, this was disclosed on CNN which is a news network, therefore it is news.

I tend to believe what the person says about him/herself instead of what other people say about the person.

I felt that way about Haggard. I'm glad he confessed though since that is the first step in getting right with God.

AND we are all hypocrites. We all state the things we believe in and in most cases we really believe those things. We are inconsistent in our human & sinful nature though.

I never got the memo that the GOP is supposed to represent Christian ideals and family values. I think they've been less hostile than the Democrats, but I just haven't swallowed the Kool Aid on the GOP being a Christian party.

1. We should consider the source. Maher, Coulter (Maher describes her as his best friend), Drudge, Franken.....anyone who uses these folks for serious information probably also refers to the National Enquirer as "the paper" (see "So I Married an Axe Murderer)

I missed that, I guess. I don't recall it. But it depends on the context. I was not upset that Foley was revealed for what he was. He was a hypocrite.
