I would like to know what makes a man like Bell say the things he does. I would guess he wants to be a man pleaser instead of a God pleaser. That always seems to be the philosophy of seeker sensative pastors.

He discredited himself with his last book. He's at it again because he has a new book out. Never trust a preacher who is a) unattached to supervision of a church and b) is hawking a new book full of new ideas.

That man is nothing more than a pagan masquerading as a Christian Pastor. In his next book he'll come out of the closet and become a buddhist/toaist/muslim...

The main tenet of today's Episcopal Church, sadly, is that poor people should not be allowed to set foot on Country Club property.

Finally, someone to accurately portray as a heretic! :)

I dont know...is anybody really paying any real attention to the guy? Ive asked most people, they never heard of Rob Bell. He is just another circus dog & pony act....soon to be forgotten if really ever seriously paid attention to. A flavor of the week!

This too will pass.

For what its worth, he's extremely influential with young adults 18 - 35. Since that is a large portion of our congregation, I've had to specifically address him at multiple points.

He's a high profile communicator for and to these generations. His teaching is contextualized to really connect with 18 - 35 year olds and he has, or at least had, a big following. Thankfully, following his last book he pretty much discredited himself with a lot of people. This new one is in the same theme and nobody really cares much for him.

I'm not sure if the average 'pew potato' would recognize who Rob Bell is and I agree he will probably soon be forgoten, but in 2011, Time magazine named Bell to its list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. I wonder what those who castigated John Piper for his Farewell Rob Bell. http://dsr.gd/fZqmd8' are going to say now!

Rev. Bell is starting to look more like Bishop Spong all the time. He certainly picked the right place to deliver his 'revelation'. I wonder how long before Bell is ordained in The Episcopal Church like Matthew Fox and Fr. Cutie.

Love Wins was a best selling book, so there are people listening. Withholding judgment on the book until I can read it for myself, World Mag is more National Enquire then Wall Street Journal.

Rob is at it again and if you are like me, this is no surprise. What worries me is that people like Bell who are liberal celebs, will gain much attention with their spinning of conservative Christianity as being mean and unloving.

....I am glad to see you caught this and posted it.....too many churches and pastors, are itching to tickle the ears of those headed down that freeway to hell. :tear:
