We find "his faith, your faith and my faith" in scripture, but the fabricator says these terms really do not refer to a human attribute. Next the unanswered question is omitted, skipped, dodged, and ignored.

Folks, ask yourselves, if our faith is instilled by irresistible grace, how could it be in vain. Could the Calvinist dogma be in vain?

This is all they have, folks, smear others with fabricated charges, claim their proofs were posted in the unreferenced past, and dodge questions with change of subject responses. Does anyone actually believe Paul used "your faith" to mean your own faith if it might be in vain, but God's gifted faith if not in vain? Neither do I. But note the use of absurdity to deflect truth. Your faith always means your faith.

The quote of 1 Corinthians 15 is a good example (provided by the poster) as how he misapplies Scriptures.

Without the resurrection, the promises of God would be doubtful and inconclusive and such faith that is doubtful and inconclusive is NOT from God.

The poster totally missed that the resurrection is key to WHY the faith from God is the "assurance" and the "evidence" of that faith which comes from Him. Faith is defined in Hebrew 11:

1Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction (evidence) of things not seen. 2For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.​

Just as James states, the faith from God results in work and understanding.

Humankind faith is doubtful and lacking any understanding being dead as the rest of the personality in sin and trespasses.

Some may consider the question how does this conversation on faith concern itself with Romans 11.

Where did "the person's faith" come from? According to Van it is not that given by God but some kind of human faith, therefore it follows it is innate at birth as part of the personality of a humans natural ability to express at will.

See here how God has to wait to elect some who during their lifetime conjure up enough faith for God's approval and pronouncement of righteousness.

Now these are just two of the pronouncement of errors I and others have attempted.

Transgression refers (I believe) to the Jews rejecting Christ, and thus the apostles take the gospel to the world (non-Jews) which provides God's riches to the world, and (I believe) their failure (diminishment) refers to the hardening of the unbelieving Jews provides God's riches to the Gentiles (again non-Jews). More riches for everyone occurs when the Jews obtain "fullness." This refers to the end of their hardening and therefore the obtaining the blessings from Christ

14) If I move to jealousy my countrymen (clearly indicating the hardening ends during Paul's life and ministry) resulting in the salvation of some Jews,

15) Because of the Jewish rejection enhanced by the hardening, more in the non-Jew "world" obtained reconciliation. But even better, enhanced by jealousy, Jewish salvations bring life to those who were dead.

16) God is holy so even when He hardens, the result short term and long term is holy.

17) Three questions arise from this verse: In the Olive Tree metaphor who or what are the natural branches, the grafted in branches and the rich or nourishing root of the Olive Tree? The natural branches are the blood-line descendants of Abraham, with those broken off being the unbelieving Jews. The wild branches are non-Jews, with those grafted in being believers. And the rich or nourishing root refers to God's provision to the believing branches.

18) The believing non-Jews must not look down upon the unbelieving Jews and remember it is God who graciously provides for us, and that grace is not of ourselves.

19) The unbelieving Jews were not broken off for your benefit.

20) Your graft into the tree was based on your faith. Beware that your faith was actually credited by God.

21) Unbelieving Jews were cut off and unbelieving non-Jews were never grafted in the promised covenant.

22) See the two sides, unbelievers receive severity but believers receive kindness, provided their faith is protected by the power of God. If not, they will be removed and burned.

23) Unbelieving Jews, if they come to their senses and believe, will also certainly be grafted in again. Here we have an interesting mix of the Old and New Covenants. It appears that blood-line Jews under the Old Covenant start out as part of the tree metaphorically, and then are broken off for unbelief, whereas non-Jews start out separated under the New Covenant, but are grafted into the tree based on their faith being credited as righteousness by God.

24) Since the gifts of God are irrevocable, those who first were promised the Olive Tree, can still be reconnected and receive that gift of salvation, even after being broken off under the Old Covenant.

Bottom line, those who were lost under the Old Covenant can be saved through the New Covenant.

BEFORE Romans 11 is Romans 10. The writer states:

"So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."​

It is not human faith or ability expressed! True faith is given by the authority and mercy of God who measures the faith out to each person HE chooses for HIS purposes.

Again this is proved in the passage by the same write of Romans 11 when writing in Romans 12:

3For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

Therefore, in light of these two statements concerning the foundation and author of faith, how faith is a gift from God, and the purpose of the specific granting of the faith, one must now make a decision.

Saving faith is certainly expressed in the Scriptures in the personal possessive pronouns of our, your, my, mine, ... because God GAVE that faith. It was that wonderful gift in which humankind cannot, of their own volition, attain. Faith from God is the assurance and evidence that God is and is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Faith that is gifted is NOT a human attribute one is born with or generated, conjured, innate, born out of freedom of the will, or some other natural human ability expressed. Van would have one think that because the faith is personally instilled into the life of those of God's choosing and specifically measured by God for that person to fulfill the purpose God has chosen, that in some way that "faith" is not from God but of human ability.

Reject such posts as Van would present.

Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel? 3 “Lord, they have killed Your prophets, they have torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they are seeking my life.” 4 But what was the divine response to him? “I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5 In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice. 6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace. 7 What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;

8 just as it is written,
“God gave them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes to see not and ears to hear not,
Down to this very day.”

9 And David says,
“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
And a stumbling block and a retribution to them.

10 “Let their eyes be darkened to see not,
And bend their backs forever.”

Here is the analysis and commentary on Romans 11:1-10 by Van:

1: His people refers to those chosen under the promise of the Old Covenant, believing Jews. Not all of the blood line descendants of Abraham.

It refers to those chosen by God's grace, both Jew and converted Gentile. These are the children of the promise for "not all Israel is Israel" and some are grafted in.

2: His people (believing Jews) whom He foreknew (as part of the Old Covenant promise). Thus they were part of His previously formulated redemption plan under the Old Covenant Promise, not the Law.

His people, the children of the promise, chosen by God. It's the same redemptive plan God first reveals to Adam and Eve. God has always saved by grace.

3: Some of Abraham's descendants rejected God and killed His prophets. These were not part of "His people."

Some of Abraham's descendants were not children of the promise. By their very nature they are in rebellion against God.

4: But from among the blood line descendants, God chose 7000 based on the condition of their faith in Him, for they had not bowed the knee to Baal.

God chose them by His grace, apart from their works, and gave them faith to believe His promise, even though they could not yet see its fulfillment. You misunderstand faith and imagine you are the creator of your own faith.

5: At the time of Paul's writing of Romans, there had come to a a remnant, in the same way, or in other words according to God's gracious choice of believing Jews.

There was never a time when all Israel was saved. Yet, God graciously chose a portion to be saved.
Simply put, belief does not come before God's choosing. Yet, that seems to be your claim. Your claim is not supported by scripture.

6. An election based on faith is a gracious choice, and is not an election based on works.

Election is not based upon a person's faith. Election is the cause agent that gifts a man faith. You have it backwards, Van, which means your teaching is legalism and works based. It is anathema, just as Paul declared in his letter to the Galatians.

7. Those seeking the promise by works were hardened, but those seeking the promise by faith were chosen. Note the timing of the choice, at the present time, rather than before creation.

Those seeking the promise by imagining they had manufactured their own faith ran into a stumbling block. They were trying to win God's election by their self-righteous works, which they mistook to be faith.

8: The temporary hardening is as described in the OT.

All sinners are, by nature, hardened to God and in outright rebellion against Him. Those within Israel who God had not chosen were forever dead in their trespasses and sins.

9: The temporary hardening is as described elsewhere in the OT.

Only the elect, the chosen people of the promise may be temporarily in sin. Those destined for destruction are fully hardened. Nothing temporary about it.

10: Note the duration of the hardening appears to last the lifetime of the individuals hardened at that time, rather than the hardening of all Jews for an unspecified period of time. Thus the hardening ended many many years ago.

The duration of condemnation for rebellion against God is eternal.
Those chosen by God will be regenerated, given faith and repent.
