Romans1:24-27

Romans 1:24-27 is a reference to homosexuality - where men have relations with men and women have relations with women.

Let's take a look at the reference in Deuteronomy 22:5. Firstly, let's remember that this is a part of the Mosaic Covenant, which was written for a particular people at a particular time in history.

Secondly, we must not look at this a condemnation against women wearing pants - that is an idea generated by modern mankind. In the days of the exodus from Egypt and for many, many years following this, the apparel of men and women was similar. However, there were some differences. As men were the ones who went out to labor in the fields or at whatever work they did, their clothing was a bit more "revealing" than the clothing worn by women. Hemlines were shorter for men's clothing, and necklines were lower. This made it easier for the men to do their labors without their clothing getting in the way. If a woman wore the clothing usually worn by men, she said by her apparel that she was a "loose woman" or a prostitute by revealing more of her body. By the same token, a man who wore clothing normally worn by women was advertising that he was effiminate. Now these things are what were abominations to God.

Here's a question for those who say that women should not wear pants. Which is more lady-like, more becoming of a modest woman - to wear pants which keep her covered or to wear a short skirt which leaves little to the imagination? For one thing, the pants are much more modest and in line with the will of God for women's modesty. Also, when women wear some of these short skirts they are provoking the lust of men. We are taught throughout the New Testament that we are not to place anything before others which would cause them to sin. I'm not saying that women should wear skirts down to their ankles - just that Christian women should use some sense in selecting what they wear.
