Romney’s Bain Capital invested in companies that moved jobs overseas

Too bad the right wing nuts in government let the redistribution of other people's money continue on their watch.

Neither the right wing nuts or the left wing nuts give a rip about the American people. They're all to busy trying to be all they can be at our expense. And the right wing nuts and left wings nuts that support them are all to busy trying to be good right wing nuts and left wing nuts to care.

Let's all blame the other side for ever and ever, Amen. Like that's doing any good at all. :BangHead:

More ... seven companies went bankrupt and thousands of jobs lost. Wonderful record by Mr. Romney. And this does not count the jobs lost by outsourcing jobs overseas.

“The private equity firm, co-founded and run by Mitt Romney, held a majority stake in more than 40 United States-based companies from its inception in 1984 to early 1999, when Mr. Romney left Bain to lead the Salt Lake City Olympics. Of those companies, at least seven eventually filed for bankruptcy while Bain remained involved, or shortly afterward, according to a review by The New York Times. In some instances, hundreds of employees lost their jobs. In most of those cases, however, records and interviews suggest that Bain and its executives still found a way to make money.”

Yes but it all made him and his partners multi-millionaires which was his goal and shows he understands business which this current president does not since he has added to our national debt by about 50% in a little over 3 years.
Bain is not a burden for him, but rather it is an asset proving that he can manage finances.

It shows he cares for self but not for others.

We want a bigger slice of the pie but the rich people are better at the game of human greed.

Then we agree. The number one monopoly the government helped to create is the Federal Reserve system. Congress awarded a handful of private bankers a monopoly on creating money from thin air. Want a more even playing field? Want more jobs? Abolish this one stranglehold the global elite have on our economy and we'll have it.

Romney is supported by this monopoly so he in turn is expected to support it, at our expense. And he will. Don't think so? Check out who his biggest campaign donors are.

I am afraid the Federal Reserve by printing excess money is setting the stage for a post WWI Germany type inflation!

That would be a blessing compared to what is coming on this nation. I would remind you that Germany survived, we will not as there is no one to prop us up.

I try to stay away from the term "rich people" it tends to lump the good people with money with the bad people with money. Some rich people actually use their wealth to help people.

I don't have a problem with all rich people. I do have a problem with people that use their wealth to gain power and then use that power to steal from others. Like the private global banking cartel known as the Federal Reserve system.

They have no purpose other than to steal the wealth of entire nations.

Bigger slice of the pie? No just sick and tired of watching a few criminal bankers and their corporito pals enslave us with never ending debt. And I'm down right sick and tired of my fellow Americans looking to these same criminals for a solution. The solution is to rid this country of the fractional reserve banker vermin that has had this country by the throat and robbing us blind and stupid since 1913.

They need us but we do not need them.

I don't get it. Crabby has claimed to be knowledgable about investing.

How is it that he doesn't know that venture capitalists invest in troubled companies that are already on the way under?

Any of those investments that don't go bankrupt represents jobs saved.

And without spending billions of tax payer dollars on each job as "the one" does.

Yep, that's right.

And he and his companies invested in starting up companies, such as Staples.

How many startup companies was obama involved in and how much "hands on experience" did obama have when he was "elected?"

It just makes me sick what obama has done to our country and our economy.

And how many small stationary and business supply stores did he destroy with a resulting of the loss of jobs. I have never seen this factored in by any of his apologists. At least in the family run businesses you could find someone to help you and they knew their products. At companies like Staples it is often very difficult to find anyone to help or answer a question. Personal service seems a lost philosophy in our bigger is better society.

Does it make you sick that the economic meltdown started under Bush and that Bush is largely responsible for the meltdown?

It makes me sick that the economic meltdown started under Bush but I do not agree that Bush is largely responsible for the meltdown. Obama has done nothing to reverse it in 3-1/2 years and has, in fact, shoved our nation deeper into dept, so much so that we have had our national credit rating downgraded.

It also makes me sick that Congress, especially the Democratic controlled Congress for 2 years under obama largely contributed to this economic downturn with their runaway spending.

PS: If people didn't like Staples and would rather shop at mom and pop stores, Staples would not be profitable and would have gone out of business. Also, think of all of the thousands of jobs Staples has provided throughout the US, a lot more than mom and pop stores would ever have been able to provide. And Staples gives back to the community, as well. Staples is active in donating school supplies to underprivileged children. And, in one year alone (2010), Staples donated more than $25 million to non-profit organizations around the world through the Staples Foundation, corporate charitable giving programs and cause marketing efforts.

Aren't liberals all for helping the underprivileged and disadvantaged?

I do not know about where you live but there are no mom and pop business supply stores where I live, or in any town or city I know of. So going to one is not a choice.

$25 billion. Perhaps they should give some of their minimum wage employees a raise. Charity begins at home you know. Of course by donating to a charity they can take that off their income tax.

Probably minimum wage employees can work their way up with time to get raises. That's how it usually works. Some minimum wage employees may not need a raise, i.e., if they are on SS and can only earn a certain amount until they reach full retirement. I would not expect an entry level job to pay much more than minimum wage no matter who the employer is, especially in this (obama created) current financial climate (uncertainty what obamacare is going to cost employers, etc.).
