I've already been to that website. It had no impact on my support at all.

Any serious presidential candidate will have pro and anti websites directed for or against him/her - Mitt, McCain, Guiliani, Clinton, Obama, Edwards.

One can "Google" nowadays and find a website that says what one is looking for a website to say. :)

So you can see/read where a candiate is clearly not the person you think he might be, and yet still vote for him, and you say you have never settled in your vote?

Hum.. Interesting.. As the 2008 run gets closer, I am sure this and more will come out. He's a smooth talked, but I don't think he will be able to talk his way out of this...

Even though I won't vote for him, it will be fun to watch him answer the tough questions as the time gets closer....

Secularly speaking this is true. Biblically speaking a Christian is called to represent Jesus Christ in ALL the he/she does seeking God's direction in every decision that would effect Christian living and support God's Word.

Still waiting for scripture that tells a believer to leave God's Word out of your civil duties. I won't see any because it would contradict the Scripture I already posted.

    God Bless!

First, we are called to speak the truth and expose the darkness. The statement is in no way "mean spirited" or "wrong". Truth has been spoken.

Second, "religious beliefs" SHOULD be a #1 factor for a Christian voter. Nonbelievers may care less, but we are called to a higher calling than the lost and should shine seperate from their Godless ways.

    God Bless!

Is this the "Word of God"? I pray you do not put secular beliefs and rules above God's Word. And the above statement goes hand and hand with Congress shall make no law establishing a national religion. This does not say that a Christian, or any other religion, is not allowed, or should not, or must not, vote according to their Holy Book. It is a law preventing another law from being established, nothing more.

Niether do I, we agree on something. This has nothing to do with establishing a Theocracy. It is about Christians honoring God's Word in representing Jesus Christ in the United States government. This is allowed you know? There is no law declaring a Christian must check his religion at the door before voting!

    God Bless!

    Romney in ’08?

Mormons upbeat as Mitt hits spotlight

Some in LDS Church are sure their beliefs will withstand the glare, but unflattering attention could multiply by Jan. 8

    By Peggy Fletcher Stack

    The Salt Lake Tribune

More than a year ago, Mitt Romney sought the advice of LDS President Gordon B. Hinckley about a run for the presidency. At the meeting, as reported in a Mormon-focused magazine, Hinckley said the decision was Romney’s to make, not the church’s. But if Romney decided to go for it, Hinckley wasn’t worried. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints would survive the inevitable scrutiny.
    That was then.
    Since that reported meeting,
photos of sacred temple garments, caricatures of Mormon worship and questions about the church’s former racial policies have circulated widely on the Internet. Such unwanted and unflattering attention will only multiply starting Jan. 8, when Romney is expected to announce his 2008 aspirations. In the coming months, Hinckley’s optimism will be put to the test.

Meaning the goverment can not set up a religious test to hold office. As a voter I can vote for whoever I wish for what ever reason. And I need no proof, my mistrust of the man is as good a reason to not vote for him as any.

The LDS church has a stake in this countrys foreign affairs. They use LDS polititions all the time to advance their agenda. They do this openly. I see no reason why they would not use Mitt to advance what they want done in the world. Vote for Mitt, you might as well skip the middle man and vote for Gordon B Hinckley.

PastorSBC asked me who I was supporting and you ask me who I last voted for. And these answers will somehow help Romney look biblically appropriate? Maybe you guys are just curious and that is fair. I voted both times for the current President Bush. Reason being #1 he professed Jesus Christ as his Lord, #2 he was pro-life. These two reasons are a must for my vote prior to any other issues being taken into consideration. The reason these two issues take precedent is because they are clearly spelled out black and white in Scripture, no grey area.

    God Bless!

I don't think asking a nonbeliever to represent you brings glory to God, do you?

It amazes me that any believer whom has studied God's Word to show thyself approved would come to the conclusion that it is ok to seperate their civil life apart from their spiritual life. Can anyone show me this in scripture?

    Response from PastorSBC1303
PastorSBC, could you give an exposition of the passages I have quoted and give some life application for them? Also explain how they could not possibly apply to a Christian's voting decisions.

    Thank You! God Bless!
