Dragonfly, I received the Navy Expeditionary Medal, and I know of several Marines who received them also, for the actions following that bombing. And we had re-commissioned American Battleships pounding Beruit for months, after that bombing.

While you ask a valid question about Reagan you use it to taunt those you have ideological differences with. In the thread about a different type of discussion you taunted conservatives to respond as if you were free and clear and then continue this type of post yourself. If you want to make this type of post that is between you and your God. But to call out those with ideological views different form your own as if you are free and clear and then continue your ridiculous posts is inconsistent to put it nicely.

And I wish yer disbarred felon hero Clinton had "appeased the terrorists by tucking tail and running away" like Reagan and Bush did......maybe if he had avenged the U.S.S. Cole 9/11 never would have happened ? The truth is we did retaliate, heavily.

Prime Minister Wazzan and the Lebanese cabinet resigned, to clear way for formation of new coalition government. 6 February Druze and Moslem militiamen seized much of Beirut in street fighting and demanded resignation of Gemayel. 7 February President Reagan announced decision to redeploy Marines from Beirut International Airport to ships offshore, leaving a residual force behind to protect the U.S. Embassy and other American interests. Increased reliance on air strikes and naval gunfire support indicated. 8 February USS New Jersey bombarded Druze and Syrian gun positions as part of the heaviest naval gunfire support since the arrival of the Marines in 1982. 10-11 February American civilians and other foreign nationals were evacuated from Beirut by helicopter. 21 February Marines began their redeployment to ships of the Sixth Fleet offshore.
