Right-wing entertainer / commentator Rush Limbaugh said he may change his mind and support President Obama's nominee for the SCOTUS, a week after calling her a "reverse racist".

Note that he never recanted calling her a reverse racist. His supposed support is because she often sides with pro-life groups. Also, I suspect he thinks his support of her will drive away the left, kind of a toxic nomination thingy.

If confirmed, she will be the fifth catholic on the bench.

Sounds like Rush is keeping an open mind.

I would have thought that you would approve of that, MP.

Also - what is the flip that they are referring to?

This story is inaccurate. Last night, I was watching an interview between Rush Limbaugh & Sean Hannity. Rush clearly stated that he didn't want her on the Supreme Court. He said this when Hannity referred to their interview in February. This was while he was again defending his statements about wanting Barack Obama & his policies to fail which included Sotomayor.

Now Newt Gingrich on ther other hand has come out & said that he doesn't believe that Sotomayor is a racist. It sounds like he's coming out to support her.

Rush did say that he may be able to live with the racism if she is pro-life. It is worth considering. The lives of unborn children weigh more in life than the damage she can do with her racism.

Since Rush don't have a vote his supposed change of mind is irrelevant.
Excellent quote. Sometimes I think people forget he is just an entertainer like a rock or movie star. Personally, I think he has done great damage to both the Republican Party and the conservative cause because of his antics and lack of any moral bearing. The answer to the Rush problem is the off button.

I never have thought of Rush as an entertainer. I have always thought of his shows as being informative. While I respect Rush Limbaugh, I don't listen to his show regularly. I generally will listen to Michael Savage, Todd Schnitt, or Neal Boortz (even though I don't entirely agree with all of Boortz's views). I won't doubt since he has been in the spot light that his ratings have increased.

I personally don't believe he's hurt the Republican Party. Back when Bush first ran for president, I used to think of him as more of a Republican cheerleader. Since Bush took office, he hasn't been in total agreement with all that he has done. Since he has been critical of some of Bush's actions, he's changed my opinion about him. He even pointed out the reason that John McCain lost his bid for the presidency was because he was not a conservative. He's not just a cheerleader for the Republican Party. He calls it like it is.

Truthfully, there is a divide within the Republican Party. Its not because of Rush Limbaugh. Its because we have too many people in the Republican Party trying to be like the Democrats. Those people call themselves moderates. Moderates are costing the Republican Party. They are the ones that are hurting the party. This is why I haven't voted for a Republican for presidential candidate since 2000. What needs to happen is either the conservatives need to abandon the Republican Party & start a newer, conservative party, or the Republican Party needs to kick out all of the moderates.

I was a conservative before I was a Republican. While the party may change, my views will not. My political & religious views come first. While there are true conservatives still in the Republican Party, I will support them. I refuse to support moderate Republicans. If I'm faced with a moderate Republican & a liberal Democrat, I will seek out a candidate who supports my views from another party.

She's just one vote so I don't know how much damage one racist could do on the SCOTUS. It would take a group of racist to do any damage.

That is why I question all the fear mongering and paranoia...

That is one of the most idiotic statements I have seen on BB.

"Just when I thought you couldn't get any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!"

From the movie Dumb and Dumber.

Why are liberals so obsessed with Rush? I'm no Dr. Phil, but this sounds like a love-hate issue.

They don't want to hear from Rush. But were he to stop speaking out, they would go into serious withdrawal.

What would MSNBC do without Rush to invoke all day? (They might have to start reporting news instead of spewing propaganda.) What would happen to their already abysmal ratings? Their viewers need their anti-Rush fix.
