As an American you are free to consider it whatever you like. Shoot you can consider up to be down and down to be up. However, if and when you ever become an actual conservative then your view on what it is might become credible.
Reynolds doesnt know what he is talking about. Best to watch the portion of the speech where Trump awarded Rush to know why.
The Wiki article is pretty good. It does not gloss over his character flaws but also doesn't use them to beat him up.

Perhaps 20 years a go he was... today he is not.
They are socialist provacitors who do not represent the conservative (old school) platform, so the only ones that will pay attention are socialists. My point is that this current administration also does not represent ultra conservative agendas. Prime example is the national debt.... another is trade wars with other countries. These are not traditional conservative moves ala Peter Nivero ... rather are signatures of the current administration

It was a bad joke I’ll admit but I edited it out. I didn’t know it was in this forum until after I posted it and it really doesn’t have any business being in here.
I’ve listen to Rush pretty regularly for about 20 years and I really appreciate his views, his sense of humor, and his fearlessness. Cancer doesn’t care how much money you have doesn’t care who your friends are it doesn’t care about your social status....It is an indiscriminate killer that only knows how to destroy. Him and his family have my prayers.
The great news is that we know One who even cancer must bow to before!

There have been things he has said over the years that has raised my attention to wonder if he really is saved. He doesn't talk about faith often on the air. He is brash, yes. But there have been things that he has said that caught my attention over the years.
Like….?
"I don'r believe in Jesus."
"The Bible is fake."
"I don't believe there is a God."
I get the feeling that it is nothing straightforward like this and that you're reaching.

What are you talking about? I am saying I think HE IS saved or at least there are indications that that is a possibility.
Now that made liberal heads explode I am sure.
For promoting the 1st Amendment of the Unites States Constitution and taking all the guff from the liberals over the years. I remember his "caller abortion" routine - that literally made the liberals go bonkers.
