As more than 300 trucks head for the Ukraine border, bringing humanitarian aid, could it be the new generations' Trojan Horse? Could this be the straw that breaks the back of all involved, and the war between Ukraine and Russia finally start?

We should know in less than two days. Will Ukraine turn this convoy away? And if they do, will that give Putin the excuse to send in the 45,000 troops camped along the border.

One thing for sure...if Ukraine turns this convoy away, we may see the quickest war in history! And Russia will annex Ukraine along with Crimea, and the rebuilding of an old-new Russia will be on its way!

I mean sho is going to stop Putin. Obama has surely given his nod of approval! Besides we have our hands full in Iraq, and we are down nearly 1,000 mid level officers to manage the troops.

Another success for Obamma as he helps undo what Reagan accomplished!

Yeah... there's no way this could go badly...

Ukrainian artillery destroyed a "significant" part of a Russian armored column that crossed into Ukraine during the night, President Petro Poroshenko told British Prime Minister David Cameron on Friday, according to Ukraine's presidential website.

Separately, a Ukrainian military spokesman said Ukrainian forces had tracked the Russian armored column as soon as it crossed onto Ukrainian soil. The announcement rattled global markets.

"Appropriate actions were undertaken and a part of it no longer exists," military spokesman Andriy Lysenko told journalists

Turns out the "armored column" was a convoy of trucks carrying aid. Ukraine didn't want the Russians bringing the aid into their country so Russia and Ukraine reached an agreement to have the Red Cross deliver it instead. Apparently that agreement broke down and Russia tried to deliver the materials themselves on Thursday night. Why the Ukrainians would destroy trucks carrying food and clothing is a mystery.

Do you have a source for that? What I've seen says that what was destroyed appears to have been a second convoy.

I got it out of my daily home delivered newspaper. It is kind of confusing and you have to read between the lines somewhat.

OK, I tried to find the story and provide a link but the online site has already updated the story and the story seems to have changed. Interesting...

There is this and it doesn't look good. This whole story is a little confusing. A lot to learn still but concerning.

I can't read that because I've exceeded my monthly allotment of free articles via Newsweek, but I see that article is almost 24 hours old.

Found this, which is confusing:

It is normal practice in war to blockade the enemy if possible. The Russian trucks were carrying food and clothing to the enemy. I don't know if the story you tell is true but I don't understand why the Ukraine would even allow the Red Cross to bring supplies to their enemy.

I don't recall anytime in WWII when a truce was called to allow the combatants to be resupplied!

Yeah, one update I saw had the convoy containing some "aid" trucks that were completely empty and their are twitter pics of APC's brazenly displaying the Russian flag driving towards Ukraine. Very interesting.

Yeah this whole thing is one giant confused mess. It will probably be weeks before we know what really happened, if then.

OK, I think I tracked it down. There are two convoys. A 200 truck convoy of aid that is just now getting into Ukraine and a separate Russian military column of 23 trucks carrying weapons, personnel, and fuel that was seen sneaking into Ukraine Thursday night by reporters from the UK's Guardian and Telegraph newspapers.

The 23 truck military convoy is what Ukraine is claiming they destroyed.

OK that's what I thought. But I also heard that APC's were with the 2nd convoy.

EDIT: Nevermind, I said that before reading the article:
The Guardian saw a column of 23 armoured personnel carriers, supported by fuel trucks and other logistics vehicles with official Russian military plates, travelling towards the border near the Russian town of Donetsk
That'll teach me to read first then speak.

You know, i was in the Air Force in 2008 during the Georgian war. That was an interesting week where I worked, and several of us debated what would be the next Russian target. There was no debate of whether or not there would be another target, just who it would be. Some were thinking the 'Stans, but my money was on either Belarus or Ukraine. Sad to say it seems I was right.

Praying it will not start either WWIII or any kind of war. But where it is going and heading, Putin wants to start it that way. :(
