Sanders: ‘The Model of Democratic Party Is Failing’

I've voted LP for president out of protest, but I wouldn't actually support a serious candidate. The President sets too much of the agenda.

Fair enough, though I think we have seen that even this President, with a Republican House and Senate, meets resistance.

I never said she was anti-abortion only that she went against Perez and welcome those to the Democratic party that were anti-abortion. One could easily say that accepting that also accepts Democrats with pro-life policies, since being anti-abortion is a pro-life policy by itself. Whether she is or isn't anti-abortion was never part of my discussion in this thread.

There is a disconnect in the so called pro life democrats like Pelosi in that she backs and supports every policy on abortion that goes against her "personal" beliefs. The fact is that pro life democrats have no voice in the policies of the democrat party and are expected to toe the line on every party policy concerning abortion, regardless of the "personal beliefs", up to and including such policies as forcing doctors into not treating any aborted child that is alive.

That is not what she is saying now. Whether it ends up being true in the long run remains to be seen.

I do believe in more government social intervention than the LP would permit.
The problem is that every time the government has indulged itself in social engineering the result has been a terrible failure. :)

Actually, the problem is the government has demonstrated bias towards the wealthy which has already resulted in a tremendous transfer of wealth from most Americans to the top 1%. Democracy without controls tends to lead to the kind of extreme wealth inequality we see today. The middle class which used to be our strength is vanishing. We now have the very rich and everybody else who struggle to make it. Income has been flat for the lower 99% in real terms for 30 years while the wealth of the top 1% has tripled! If that's your objective fine. It's not mine.
