Psalm145 3:
Can you feel the stones coming our way! ;)
Take heart Brother,Mt 5:10
Blessed are they which are persecuted for
righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom
of heaven.
To those of you that teach your children the truth, I am glad & don't understand why you'd be upset, because these warnings would'nt be aimed in your direction. But it is aimed at those that feed their children lies & then wonder why they don't believe the truth as they grow older.

I don't get the problem here. My parents always let us girls believe in Santa and it was always a fun thing like Micky Mouse was. My parents were always careful though to make sure it was an even balance that we understood what Christmas was all about and not just about gifts and such, we knew it was about Jesus and his birth and in fact every Christmas morning with out my parents knowing I prayed and thanked God for sending his son to earth to die for me way before any gifts were opened.

Perhaps some parents go a bit too far but let me tell ya, I'd be the one taking you out if you stepped in line and yelled that Santa isn't real because #1 that isn't your responsibility, #2 Santa is being paid to do that, #3 many children are standing in line to see him and I wouldn't want their little hearts broken to pieces before Christmas. So watch out for me to knock you out if you do something that nutty.

Btw...the concept of Santa is actually from a Christian backround. A christian man who loved God very much actually did take gifts to kids in his town and was called St. Nick that is the real story behind that. I think people get way to uptight about this stuff, just don't let it get comercialized in your home even though it does in the stores.

Amen myreflection! I couldn't have said it better myself. I too believed in the concept of Santa Claus just like I believed that Bambie's mom got killed and Under Dog came to save the world from danger every Saturday morning. I always knew that Christmas was about little Jesus laying in a manger, and i figured out quick enough that Santa Claus wasn't real just like I knew Mighty Mouse wasn't real. :D ;)

Until Next Post, Adam

My sincerest apolgies, Brother Halo!
The only thing I meant was that you were one of the nicest older gentleman out there! I pictured you with rosy cheeks and a beard, but I left out the bowl full of jelly! :D You actually remind me of my meek and longsuffering father, who is also about the same age as you are.

Did I save face
?

'scuse me rhonecutt? Put a number between 1 and 9 in front of 9 in front of 8 and you have my age. If there's no presents under my tree this year I blame you! I'll get the tooth fairy after you, I will, I will!
Santa, if you're reading this he/she didn't mean it. And can we ease up on the Martha Stewart look this year? ;)

or Easter bunny at church. Its not just at the mall they'll want to stone ya!
It is teaching our children a form of idolotry, & it will affect some, mabey not all, but a few is too many. Could be yours, is it worth the risk?
And halloween, I won't even go there

A lie is not truth, DUH, so if you teach your chidren about Santa, then you are telling a lie. Simple God is truth Santa is a LIE.

Now what are you teaching children? Truth or lie? Your choice.

I am not a big follower of Santa, The Easter Bunny, the tooth fairy, and all their kin.

I am also not one to believe they should be at church.

Children love fantasy and I think they should be involved in it.... but they also need know the difference between fantasy and reality . .... . and they have a hard time figuring it out....

I have to say that that the only One that ever came to my house was Jesus... all the others never came to my house growing up .. . .. :D

In Hungary December 6th is celebrated as Saint Nicholas' Day. On that eve children will either find candy in their highly polished and cleaned shoes or a whip. If they behaved themselves they found candy, if not, well...... ;)

But this festivity was in no way associated with Christmas. See some interesting story at the following URL about Saint Nick: http://www.nerone.cc/newslett/claus.htm

Hey isn't this suppose to be on the baptist humor page... I had one guy tell me because I bought a christmas tree I was a pagan.

I know all about the tradition and history behind Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, Halloween, Valentines Day and various others but I never worship them.

Some of your responses just cracked me up. They were as funnier than the original question.

What say we disect Nursery Rhymes and see what evil lurks in the hidden interpretations... GIVE ME A BREAK!... Eugene :D

Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and
one convert him;
Jas 5:20
Let him know, that he which converteth the
sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul
from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

quote:
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists

Many things in today's culture come in the "spirit" of antichrist, although not the antichrist himself.

Satan Claus, er Santa Claus often comes in that spirit in our post-christian society.

We're not takling about lying to our children here, we are talking about a fantasy and there is a big difference. Let me tell ya if my preacher was so lame and that hard up for sermons that he preached against santa...I'd be one less member. I know of some Santa's who use the ol jolly dude for a ministry and its very helpful. My mother in law tried to put a guilt trip on me for letting my son believe in the Clause but basically I told her she wasn't going to change my mind so let the subject be.

There is a nativity scene I plan to get soon where Santa Clause is kneeling at the baby Jesus with his hat off and he's worshiping Jesus, it kind of puts the whole thing into perspective and one that I would love to display in my home.

I don't mind if anyone else doesn't agree with Santa, thats up to you but don't even go there with telling me I'm lying to my kid because the claws will come out, talk about legalism in the first degree.

There's only two sides to every issue
Fantasy or fact
Lie or Truth
God's way or the world's way, I don't say sants is a lie, God's Word does! ;)
