Pray.
Tell God you feel that Satan is trying to turn you from God, and ask God to help your faith.
Ask others to pray for you.
Tell Satan, in God's name, to leave you alone.

I believe satan tries to do this with every believer, so don't feel alone. Whenever you feel you are being attacked, ask God to overcome it. I like to sing (or think) one of my favorite worship song's, too.

Another idea that might give you some practical help would be to go to your search window and type: Christian apologetics ,then hit enter.

You will have many sites to choose from. There is much documentary proof of the existance of God and that He is who He says He is and He can do what He says He can do.There is also information on the Bible being the Word of God and Jesus Christ being who He said He is also.

In addition to this pray and read Gods' Word.My prayers are with you.

Benz,

Aside from the bible, I recommend two books:

The Fight by Dr. John White (InterVarsity Press). It is in expensive and available on line at InterVarsity,,about $12.00 Cdn. This was written by the late Dr. White, who was a Christian and psychiatrist who taught at Regent College in BC. He was from England and grew up in the Plymouth Brethren. Sound in theology and practice.

The second book is: Who Rolled the Stone (Zondervan)by Frank Morison. Morison was an English journalist and barrister who set out to prove that Jesus' resurrection was a hoax. In brief, he went to the Holy Land to get the facts and came back a solid believer. A must read.

Cheers, and God bless,

Jim

PS. I too am in Canada. Please feel free to contact me anytime. I am near Kingston, Ontario.

Simple solution. Every time you get one of those thoughts that bother you, take the time to pray. Ask God to help you in your spiritual struggles, ask God to guide you and bless you.

Satan hates it when Christians pray. Soon he catches on that this form of attack causes consistent prayer to occur, the attacks will lessen and even fade away completely!

The best advice is to pray, and please know that I am praying with you.

I must say: I really love the people who have offered words of encouragement.

May God smile down upon all of you and your families,

I think Jim's idea of contacting him if you are near him is awesome. Spiritual warfare is very serious business, and you should have another Christian praying with you.

Humble yourself by accepting that the battle cannot be won by yourself without Christ, Pray for strength against temptation, seek His face through Scripture and mediation on it from other brethren (Books or articles), and search your life and look for doors you may have left open for Satan to seep in such as certain television shows, movies, carnal friends, and worldly media. Identify them, be rid of them and repent.

Benz, this advice may or may not work for you but, Im going to suggest singing praises to the Lord and playing Godly music, man let me tell you that stuff works, TexasSky had some good advice to.

I don't recall the exact name of the book, but I believe it was "The Battle for the Mind". I'm not sure whom the author was. Maybe Texas Sky or someone else will know off hand. I read this years ago, and it was quite enlightening. All Christians are having a battle with Satan for control of their mind. That is why Romans 12:1-2 is so important. We need to be in the Word daily, and in prayer.
God bless, and I'll be praying.

Matthew 12:43 "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation."

Fill you head with scripture, praises and things of God.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy -- meditate on these things.

To put it mildly, I committed a few sins in my BC days, and the devil reminds me of'em, trying to make me feel unworthy of salvation. However, I know where those thoughts are coming from, and thus,WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT'S HELP, I resist the devil and he flees from me. And I know he'll be back. BUT I ALSO KNOW THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL BE BACK, and the devil will be thwarted yet again.

Depend upon GOD. Put on ALL the armor He has for you. Pick up the sword (His word) He's placed at your disposal. And remember that the devil and all his demons together cannot stand against one word from God. He will, however, try again and again. He has nothing else to do until he goes "home" to perdition forever; he wants to take as many as possible with himself.

Fight him with the Sword of the Spirit. Quote scripture when these thoughts come creeping in. Remember that the demons believe and tremble! Just start praising the Lord for all He's forgiven you for and verbally tell Satan to 'get out of town', as my 10 year old Nick would say.

Hi benz,
The first thing you did was reach out and ask for help, that was a step in the right direction, people on this board are praying for you.

Now one thing I'm going to tell you and it may actually make you feel good about yourself : satan does not attack those whom aren't saved, he already has them. He can't hurt Christians because we have the full armor of God, but he is always on the attack. satan knows his time is short so he is ramping up his attacks. satan knows he is already defeated, but his ego wont let him admit it.

The enemy can't stand up to the power of the name of Jesus. God is with you!

God Bless!

Whenever I'm under attack by satan, I say: "satan in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ leave me". Some like say: "satan in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ get behind me".

Stay in the word, keep in contact with your pastor, keep in contact with Christian Brothers and sisters.

God Bless
