I was going to say something about giving Satan too much credit, but I am glad I left it up to an older and wiser man than I so now I can amen him !

You guys are right, Satan doesn't have anything to do with homosexuals, greed, or any other sin for that matter. We're giving him too much credit.

When I mentioned this to a few people at church yesterday, they were as appalled as I am, noting there will probably be an influx of "Mommy, why do I have two mommies?" and "Daddy, why do I have two daddies?" type books if this deal goes through. But I guess it doesn't matter if it's labeled a Christian company.

    Time will tell.

In this case, this isn't an issue of homosexuality, greed, or any other sin. Mr Hindry was recognized by the organization in question for his work in HIV awareness and prevention. It is a huge stretch to make a "gay agenda" claim out of that.

As for the claim of greed, evidence for that is even more notably absent than the "evidence" for Mr Hindry fostering a "gay agenda".
I mean no disresect, but if you didn't make it clear as to the nature of the connection, you were engaging in gossip. Since we Christians are forbidden from doing this, you have no choice but to clarify the information this coming Sunday. Since I believe you to be an honorable woman, I have no doubt that you will do so.

How did he get to be a "Founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits)"? I thought Ignatius Loyola took care of that a long time ago. Seems as though that allegiance and the award from a gay/lesbian group would be in sharp contradiction.

Oh, but I did make it clear, so wasn't engaging in gossip and have nothing to clarify this coming Sunday. [IMG]

I don't think Nelson will change much and that's certainly not a bad review of them. And there's still the American Bible Society.

Glad you agree - too often these are sins of the flesh that we won't accept the blame for ourselves.

This is nor a Satanic move - it is all about $$$$$.

So let me understand and tell me if I have missed anything. A corporation that is FOR PROFIT that makes that PROFIT by selling Christian materials is concerned about making PROFIT. However, making PROFIT and being focused on the best way to make that PROFIT is somehow evil? So it is now wrong for a "FOR PROFIT" corporation to make decisions based on what is going to earn a PROFIT? Just because they print Christian literature does not mean that they are allowed to ignore the bottom line. Paying attention to the bottom line is not the "Love of Money" it is responsible stewardship.

Don't fall off of the High Horse.

Nelson is a company not a Bible Society in other words they want to make money. Their mission is not to spread the Gospel per se. So I don't really see the big deal.

Pray for the Lord to guide them. He can lead them to do certain things and publish certain things even if money is the bottom line. Don't make a bigger deal than you should.
