Satanic Dreams or just nightmares? Please read a.s.a.p and let me know your thoughts

I have a question, I have a family member who has had some weird experiences lately. Now I know most will say its that he or she is crazy but I have had other people relate similar experiences.

My brother who I had previously wrote about regarding all the things he is going through. His Kidneys are better but now his digestive system is failing and he cannot eat, he has lost 35 pounds in 2 weeks. Well, thats off the subject.

Anyways, he is now at home and he called me to ask me a question. He said the following:

I dont want you to think I am crazy because I know I am not. However I have no one else to share this with. I have had to really bad dreams about demons and other spirit like beings trying to enter my body or home and when it gets really intense and I wake up, when I try to rebuke in the name of jesus something covers my mouth and tries to not allow me to say it and when I so it goes.

Also, when I am in the bedroom laying in bed, something pulls my feet and yanks them. I have been praying to God to liberate me from Homosexuality and to help me want to leave Edwin and allows us to just be brothers in Christ without any temptation but its hard. We sleep in the same bed but we dont have sex anymore. What should I do? What do you think?


My response was, Brother... let me pray about this and ask God for guidance. Read the word of God and ask God for guidance as well. God is faithful and will answer your call.

I am going to his home today as his request to pray with him and give him some word. What do you guys think about this, I mean.. when I was a kid I had nightmares when I watched a horror movie or something but thats different from this case. I mean he is actually feeling something grab him while he is awake.

1st...is your brother a born again person? Also, is he a born again person who is *struggling* with homosexuality, or is he a practicing, care free homesexual, who is happy in that lifstyle?

2ndly, my inclination would be to tell him to pay no regard to his dreams whatsoever. Even if he dreams that Satan himself is screaming "I'm indwelling you now! I'm indwelling you now!!" over and over again...it still means nothing. Zero. Nada. It means nothing....its only a dream. We all have nightmares from time to time, and if he is taking medication I know that some medication can cause weird dreams.

If he is a born again person, then he is sealed into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit, and once we are born again the possiblilty of every being lost again is non-existant. We are 100% secure and sure for heaven. But the homosexuality will certainly cause great problems for him in this life until he finds freedom from it. God can indeed give people freedom over that sin.

I won't go as far as D28guy and say that a practicing homosexual could be saved without repenting of his lifestyle (1 Cor. 6:9-10), but I would look closely at the medication your brother is taking. I have been prescribed two medications (one for hypertension and the other for migraines) that I quit taking because they induced demonic dreams.

I think his boyfriend has, I think that at one point his boyfriend was doing some voodo stuff so that my brother wouldnt ever leave him or fall in love with another woman again. Stuff like that....

He could very well be born again and still in this sin. Thats the reason why I asked if he is struggling with this sin, knowing its wrong, but struggling with it. The prodigal son never stopped being a son. He was always his fathers son, even as he was out living like the devil.

The lost will generally be care free about sin of this sort. As happy as can be in it. But if someone is born again there will always be a conflict going on inside, causing them to experience strife and conviction.

I hope thats the case with this person.

That may be the source of his problems. Demons are as real today as they were in the time of Christ. So is demon oppression. When people dabble in the occult they open themselves up to the influence of demons.

Update on the situation!!

I went to his home at 4:10 pm, before I went over I was praying in the vehicle that God would give me word and guide me through this. I sat down with him and told him I needed to speak to him. I told him that he is my brother here in this world and I do not intend to offend him but my first obligation as an ambasador of God on this earth is to speak to him the truth and the great news that Jesus came to die for our sins.

I asked him about the dreams and he said in one of the dreams. He saw that my wife and I were divorcing. He saw that his boyfriend Edwin was being raped by two ugly spirits. That alot of people going to his home had bad intentions and most of the ones he mentioned were Christians including myself, father ext...

I told him that I dont believe those dreams are from God. I told him that they are either nightmares or caused by something occult in his home or his lifestyle. However that I was almost 100% it wasnt from God.

I gave a brief testimony on how God has and is continuing to deliver me from pornography. I told him how it was extremely difficult but that once I gave my life to Christ he gave me the strengh to continue to seek to be like Christ more and more.

It was like he totally disregarded everything I said and took it like a joke. His boyfriend then came and said why wasnt I more like Joel Osteen. That Christians are supposed to be rich or at least wealthy and I was always broke. The conversation went crazy from there and they totally changed the subject. Afterwards I gave them both a hug and said Good Bye, see you later, call you tonight. May God bless you both.

The dreams or visions will probably continue as long as your brother is in the relationship he is in. The fact that he is still sleeping in the same bed with his 'boyfriend' is evidence he has not given up on homosexuality altogether..

When one is born again, and God convicts of sin, God does not partially convict of that sin. If your brother truly has repented of homosexuality, he will tell this Edwin person to find another place, or he himself will find another place.

There is no such thing as a Christian who is a homosexual. Nor a homosexual who is a Christian. Homosexuality is abomination in God's eyes.

Well, that probably clears up some of the things that I was wondering about concerning your brother. A born again person can certainly be struggling with homosexuality, no doubt about that, but to consider the things of God to be a "joke"....thats not good at all.

Unfortunetly, I think the best thing for you to do is to keep looking for opportunities to share the gospel with your brother and his friend, and pray that God will open their hearts to see their need...and then embrace Christ and be born again.

You are a very important person in this situation, because you have a "built in" reason to be involved in his life. It reminds me of myself after I was born again. My dad, mom, and sister were all lost when I was born again. They were the 1st people I witnessed to, with my 2 best friends while growing up being the next ones.

All were born again in time, except for one of the friends.

God bless you as you continue to minister Gods love and new life to your brother.

Thanks for being so awesome and helpful. Yeah, he has already been in a mental health facility and was there 4 days for evaluation and checked out cool.

Its that I feel such a responsibility to share the gospel with him. My whole family who are Christian are very timid when sharing the gospel to him. Like for example my father who has been in Church for over 30 years allows my brother and his boyfriend to stay in the same room at his house when they go for vacation for weeks at a time. I mean, there has to be something wrong in that right???

They also get upset at me all the time because I dont see eye to eye with him on certain things, they tell me; God is love, God is mercy. It drives me nuts because they put such a guilt trip on me but who cares. I think I am right in telling him like it is.

What upset's me so much with people is when they try to justify themselves in everything they do, even Christians. I mean, they sin and when confronted with the sin they justify it, like; I did this because, or it was this or that. Listen if you are living in sin, admit it and ask God for forgivenes and if you do it from the heart he will forgive you and thats it.

You are correct, I am a sinner and I make no excuses, none what so ever. I will not get in a argument with you over how I dont sin anymore because we all fall short of the Glory of God, so thank God that he gave his son to cover my sins, do you want him to cover yours? He stays quiet..

Wow. I haven't read any of the other responses. But, it is so clear to me!

He hasn't eaten, so he is experiencing visions. He is seeing what is really going on in his life. Satan is trying to keep him bound in sin, in his case, homosexuality...but, he knows he must cry out to Jesus to be saved and released from these demonic forces! Wow.

He says with his mouth, that he wants to give up homosexuality, but yet he sleeps in the same bed with his boyfriend. He is making a provision for his flesh. Tempting himself.

Romans 13:13-14

"Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts."

The Bible says, "resist the devil and he will flee from you."

Your brother has a desire to resist the devil. He knows he needs to, but his flesh is weak, and so he has made a provision for this weakness. You can never be victorious until you resist the devil all the way. Your brother is in a wonderful place, for Jesus said that His power is made perfect in weakness!

This is a wonderful vision. Encourage him to trust in Jesus...he will not be disappointed. Jesus is trying to reach him, even in his dreams. He loves your brother so much. He wants him to know true joy and happiness.

You know, the Bible tells us that we defeat the devil by our testimony. (Rev. 12:11) When talking to your brother, always testify of God's glory and the power of His blood. You will feel strength and wisdom fill you as you do--you will feel the Holy Spirit take over and witness to your brother. He knows what to say better than you do. He knows what your brother needs to hear, instead of what you think he needs to hear.

Did he show change in his lfe or has he remained slave to the sin ? I am not talking about sliding back into the sin but did he change at any point ?
If you saw change in his life then you must help him to understand that continuing in this sin ie: sleeping with his friend is not only offensive to God it is leading his friend down a path of doom. Familiaize yourself with the scriptures that deal with sexual sin and patiently show them to him and allow God's spirit to move.
The dreams can be any number of things but use them to show that he needs God's comfort.
Be cautious yourself and understand that you are on display to him and his friend, they will look very closely at your life trying to find hypocrisy. Good luck my friend I will pray for you.

Well, he used to smoke 4 packs of cigarrets a day but when he had open heart surgery the doctors told him to quit or else. He is a little nicer to me, but just about every 4 months he goes off on me for something. :laugh:

Not talking about cigarettes, temper or health. Has he at any point to your knowledge turned his life over to the Lord ? If not then the real need is not worrying about the dreams but about eternity. If he has made a profession of faith then have you seen change in his desires and life at any point. No one can judge anothers salvation but change is always apparent at when we repent sincerely.

That is a key "detail".

He needs to leave the house immediately and be covered by prayer.

Who knows how much of his dreams AND of his illnesses are being caused by that -- get out now!

1- Mental health practitioners cannot help with spiritual issues. They do not recognize or acknowledge the reality of that which goes on in the spiritual realm. Many people who are truly struggling with demonic activity are misdiagnosed with mental illness. I am a nurse, I have done mental health nursing, and I have seen it.

2- If you are struggling with a major stronghold in your own life (e.g. pornography, major marriage struggle) you are not in a place to minister to him in this situation. You will likely get pulled down in the process. You need someone who 1) has experience dealing with demonic oppression and 2) has their life right with the Lord and has dealt with any major sin areas in their life.
