More reasons for Christians not being unequally yoked together with unbelievers in the military.
So, I guess it was a sin for our "greatest generation" to join the Allied armies to stop Hitler from murdering another 6 million Jews? We should have just let him do it. And when he go around to us, we should have just let him kill us too?

And my generations war. We should have allowed global communism to take over the world and turn all of Asia into something akin to the "killing fields" of Cambodia?

I take it Augustine's Just War concept is another thing you are not familiar with?

In WWII we had Christians killing Christians. Also WWI, and in the American Civil War as well as the American Revolution. If Christians heeded Paul's words, None of these would have been able to raise the armies they did or do the damage they did.

Starting on Christmas Eve, many German and British troops sang Christmas carols to each other across the lines, and at certain points the Allied soldiers even heard brass bands joining the Germans in their joyous singing.

So you think it was born again Christ following Christians who murdered those 6 million Jews, enslaved another 5 million and worked them to death? Not to mention performed vile medical experiments on helpless children without benefit of anesthesia? You must have a funny definition of "Christian."

Do Christians serve in the military? Did Nazi Christians know what they were involved in before the war ended? How about the American Civil War with Christians killing Christians over worldly issues?

What exactly is your point Dave?

We all know what we are capable of.

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

I'm saying we should not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers, and this includes joining the military. Where we place ourselves under the control of unbelievers instead of Christ.
