If the SBC won't exclude the liberal CBF churches after all these years, why should we think it will exclude churches with women pastors or sub-pastors?

The SBC is going the way of the mainline denominations.

Hopefully the CREC and other solid smaller groups will pick up SBC Churches that are fleeing the convention.

Isn't Doug Wilson in CREC ?

The CREC - is Reformed - ie Presbyterian - What would a Baptist church allign with them?

It's time for for solid SBC's to ensure that these polices do NOT remain in the SBC.
I plan on writing a letter to our DOM and to our State Convention President.

CREC is not Presbyterian. It is Reformed only. It's Baptist, Presbyterian, Dutch Reformed, and more.

Our Church adheres to the 1689 London Baptist Confession, which is one of the confession statements the CREC allows.

I have long fellowshipped with the Founders group of the SBC, harkening back to the doctrine/purpose of the men in 1845. Had breakfast with Tom Ascol a few years ago when he was out hunting in my area. Always praying for our SBC brethren in their battle to restore truth in doctrine/practice.

I listened to the new pastor and his mindset. It really is not much different since women had been ordained to ministry at Saddleback prior to his coming. And MANY Baptist churches have women de facto ministering, but we simply do not call them "pastors". This latest move in calling his wife a "pastor" (which is a role that elders hold) is an open admission of what she has always done and is working as an elder.

Personally do not think the SBC would ever kick out Saddleback, the largest SBC church on the Coast, and a large influencer. When you don't want to take difficult action, you always refer it back to a committee and hope the issue dies down.
