I've given money directly to the poor on many occasions. Jesus wasn't asking everyone to give everything they have to the poor. he was making the point that He must be the master of our lives not money, politics or anything else.

Then you admit a citation of scripture you gave as the sole answer to a question is one of which the precept you do not claim to follow yourself.

You seem to reject Jesus' teaching in this passage. Why? Does it hit too close to home?

That's a false accusation. Yes or No: do you "reject" Jesus teaching of selling all you have and giving the proceeds? If you have not done so, why?

Jesus was speaking to the young ruler because wealth was his master not Christ. Many other things can also serve as our master. One of these is politics. Others are sex and power. I have made Jesus master of my life. Have you?

You have, huh? Does he tell you how to get your hair cut? Whether to have a dog and what to name it? What brand of toilet paper to use?... is he Lord/Master of ALL in your life?

You have not adequately explained why you bring up a requirement Jesus gave to a man that you have not done yourself. As far as other things, like politics, being one's master, you are a candidate there, as that is what you have posted about the most.

It's not a good idea to make fun of the Bible.

Are you ever concerned that those you give $$ to may use it for drugs.?
