Lots of rumors swirling about Speaker Ryan leaving. I think it would be a good thing. Even if Ryan gets his act together, he'll always be doubted because of the stupid statements he made about Trump.

Scalise would be a good choice, especially with all the gun-grabbing nonsense going on.

Don't know, but I don't think so. I think at some point Ryan warmed up to Trump and wanted to do good. Problem is, he made such an ugly stand early on, it's cause irreparable mistrust among Trump voters. Every move he makes will be suspicious.

just because the guy is going on record. Supposedly, the thrill is gone with Paul Ryan, has been since his disastrous performance against Joe Biden in 2012.

Paul Ryan has been in Congress for twenty years - I have a hunch he will just not run for re-election, or wouldn't if he had his way but he may run again just for appearances. There's no guarantee that he'll stay Majority Speaker anyways, can't buy into the blue wave fantasy yet but that doesn't mean it won't happen months from now.
