Individuals and employers would have new obligations to get coverage, or face hefty penalties.
And they'll pay for it by having fewer employees. I know someone at my husbands work would lose their job immediately, no more yearly bonus, plus that little bit she puts in and IRA for the employees, gone for sure. Yeah, it's going trickle down alright, less money and higher prices. Nope, richj aren't going to lose a penny on it, we are.

rbell, consider this. Currently in "the land of the free", if you exercise your freedom to decline health insurance, and you get hit by a car, do you know who pays for your treatment? That's right...the rest of us.
It is illegal to drive without auto insurance. If you drive without it and get injured, you pay your own bills.

Since Obama is going to be a one term President and Pelosi has given the Dems a bad name this will get reversed when the repubs get back control

Keep dreaming. I will laugh in your face on January 20, 2012 when President Obama (man I love to type that) is reelected.

Of course, there is a possibility that Caribou Barbie will come to the right-wing rescue!

As does unbridled Capitalism. The difference is the Capitalist redistribute wealth to only the wealthy.

I'm feeling a little ignored here - you skipped my question.

What additional percentage of your gross income are you willing to pay to get a national health care plan?

Before you panic some perspective and why are Christians even in a panic?

Wow. So in one swoop, we kill the job market, punish acheivement, and get rid of "evil rich people." What a winning plan! *sigh*

Specific response using a picture that talks a thousand words in regard to the rich being over burdened with a raise in taxes to help public healthcare.

this screaming of this or that is just pure panic, and meant to just support a bias .I wish and pray for this board some perspective without the panic.

What your picture doesn't tell us is that when the marginal tax rates went down income at all levels went up - the middle class grew.

The 40% figure at the Obama end of the picture is going to prove to be low in a very short time. I am guessing that it will be more like 50 to 60%.

When the marginal rates reach those levels we will see the wealthy again sheltering their income from taxes and taking less investment risks - which means that the economy will slow even more and the level of income for all classes will go down. The middle class will shrink and the lower class will grow.

It isn't going to be a pretty picture.

And that pile of filth spent how much of his and others' money for his inauguration gala that could have gone for how many hundred surgeries or thousands of preseciptions? How much more will he spend that next ime, if it comes?

If it becomes mandatory for employeers to provide health insurance, whose paying for it, them or us? Becasue not only might my husband be out a job, even if he isn't we'll be out of a home when we can't pay rent becasue of paying for insurance. Nobody stops to think how much this is going hurt families. half the businesses around here will have to close down, we'll have 50% unemployment, if not more. People with no home, no food, and still no health insurance becasue they don't have a job.

How exactly is that done since the poor by definition have no wealth to redistribute?
It is taking smaller amounts from many and concentrating them at the top to the few. It adds up.

For example, the long distance telephone business is based on margins of fractions of a cent. Yet it adds up to a $70-Billion business. No wonder the companies compete so fiercely over those slimmer than slim margins.
