Schuller Fires Son from being Speaker on the Hour of Power Show

Robert H. Schuller fires his son Robert A. Schuller from being the speaker on the Hour of Power Show. It appears that RHS did not want RAS talking about sin, but only wanted positive thinking projected. The newspaper article is given below.

I tell you.... these young preachers these days....... can you believe the audacity of some people........ to try to use the BIBLE as his source for his preaching. What is this world coming to??? With all the good books out there on positive thinking how could he even think of using the BIBLE???

Wow, what a coincidence! A few weeks ago as I was flipping through the channels I caught the Hour of Power with the younger Shuler speaking and I had commented to my wife how surprisingly biblical his message was. And she jokingly said that he better watch out or he would get fired. I said he couldn't be fired because he is the hereditary preselect to the throne of the Crystal Cathedral. I guess she was right!

A mission is a place where you ask nonbelievers to come and find faith and hope and feel love. We're a mission first, a church second."

Well that about sums up his whole ministry doesn't it.

If he was preaching the Bible, it's really sad he was fired. This shows Schuller's true colors.

I guess Schuller wants teaching that is more Ernest Holmes than the Bible.

History is full on entrepenuers (sp?) who built great companies/organizations in their youth and wanted to pass them on to their sons, but could not do it. They continued to hold control into their old age and destroyed everything they had built. It is not an unusual phenomenom. It probably explains what is going on between the Schulers as well as anything.

I guess Schuller Senior knows a thing or two about tickling ears and drawing crowds. I saw that preaching about sin would be the downfall of his little empire. He probably just couldn't stand the thought of losing all of that.

Of course Bible believing Christians would have seen through Schuller's program a long time ago -- I wonder if his son will now start a new reformed-schuller group.

Might save some souls if he does.

drfuss: It was in my local paper that Robert A. Schuller has resigned from the Papa Schuller's church and intends to get into another ministry. On another forum, a poster said the California local newspaper indicated he was going to start another church in the area. Young Schuller has not announced this, but the local paper did. It could be a rumor about him starting another church in the area.

It is a good thing his son was fired. Pastors will be able to watch and see what happens when a man is left to do things his way and not God's.
