Schumer turns GOP tactics on Trump

Didn't the GOP know that what goes around comes around during their 8 years of obstructionism?

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) capped off his first 100 days as Senate Democratic leader under President Trump with a big win on spending, signaling how he plans to deal with Republicans in the months ahead.

Schumer and former Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) blasted Senate Republicans throughout President Obama’s presidency for obstructing his agenda.

But just over three month’s into Trump’s first term, Schumer’s playbook looks similar to the one Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) used against Obama eight years ago.

It’s a flashback to 2009: keep the minority unified and use every opportunity to slow down the president’s agenda.

Have you NOT YET learned, there is no division in government whereby the PEOPLE are part of the divided CLICK of politicians?

It is ALWAYS a division of the Government is one side and the People at Large are the other side.

The Government is FOR the Government and the People are FOR the People, and THAT is precisely WHY the Government IS corrupt, regardless of what "LETTER" they have emblazoned on their forehead.

We have a had POLITICAL "machine" for decades; groomed, "entitled", expected and accepted.
How refreshing to have a "human", OF the people, BY the people, FOR the people.

It wasn't that WAY during REAGAN'S term. He was a "CHAMPION" for the PEOPLE.

Seems I remember a president commenting, "We won, you lost. Get over it!", or words to that effect.
If the GOP had any metallic spheres, they would do the same thing right now!!
Bipartisanship is great IF it is practiced by BOTH sides, but it has been a whop-sided affair for the last 50-60 years favouring the libs.
To continue this path (as this budget seems to do - IMHO) is to hasten the demise of the USA. :(

The op is just flat out wrong when it says:

Republicans abandoned Trump’s request to fund construction of a border wall as well as various riders to loosen environmental and financial regulations.

Such statements are highly partisan and completely incorrect. In fact there is money included for the border wall its just not new money, there is no obamacasre bail out funds, nor are there any green energy funds, and the Dems did not get the shutdown they wanted.

Trump worked with Dems and negotiated and then they act like spoiled children over the final product. Its all bluster with no meat in their behavior. Good luck with that though.
