Global warming madness is from the left's fear that there is no God, certainly not one we can count on.

If God promised to meet all of our needs, thru Christ, what could you possibly be worried about ?

Wouldn't that increase humidity and cloud cover, thus increasing the greenhouse effect?

 

But during the past ice ages and warming cycles, humans were nomadic wanderers. This time, we have high technology societies whose economies could be severly impacted.

If global warming does happen, maybe we can all become illegal aliens in Canada!

I never said the melting of the ice would drastically raise the level of the ocean. I just commented on the physics of ice melting in the ocean.

And my point was that melting ice caps would not submerge NYC. The total amount of rise of the water levels, not counting other factors such as evaporation, wouldn't even cover your feet entirely.

Is there any documented proof on this matter? Or do hurricanes just seem nastier now that they hit more heavily populated areas? A hurricane hitting New Orleans in 2005 will do much more damage than the same strength hurricane hitting New Orleans in 1805.

 

Much like a 7.9 earthquake that hits LA will cause more problems than a 9.2 that hits Honolulu, Alaska.

 

Hope of Glory...the earthquake analogy has no bearing on the hurricane analogy. (Sorry if I wasn't clear on the point I was making). The statement posted in relation to Global warming being a problem was:

Again I ask is there actually any data that backs that statement. If a hurricane is nastier because there are more people in the area, then global warming has nothing to do with that.

Where is the proof that global warming has caused more frequent and nastier hurricanes?

 

That is a similar analogy, though. The earthquake that created Reelfoot lake in W Tennessee was huge, but as far as we know, no one was killed because of a sparse population and no large buildings.

Today, there is much crying over the great increase in earthquakes, but there is no evidence of such, just evidence of more people being affected by them.

In the 'quake of '64, which was the second largest one ever recorded (9.2), there weren't a lot of deaths. Although, at 9.2, it actually shook 13 people to death. Some of those deaths were as far away as Garden City CA from the resulting tsunami. But, not many people really were affected because of a lack of population. (It also wasn't blared from every TV channel live while it was happening.)

It's the same with a hurricane. If you have a few people living in an area that is hit, there will not be as much notice as when NOLA is hit. But, this would have especially been true before instantaneous news channels.

A lot of the hoopla is about perception.

 

Show me examples of "much crying" over the "great increase in earthquakes".

Well, then do you have a link to your example where they are crying over the great increase in earthquakes?

 

How about you just do a Google search? I didn't waste a whole lot of time reading them when they were written any more than I read all the stories about the tsunami being a hand of judgment from God.
