Don't like screaming, but loud is O.K. My God ain't dead and He"s not nervous either!
He can handle people getting excited sometimes.
Peace,
Tam

I agree, Tam. Also, I don't like it when the preacher tells me how and when to worship. I mean, sometimes while at church, maybe while the choir or an individual is singing, I may lift my hands to the Lord and sometimes I feel like I "get lost" in worship. But I don't like it when a preacher or worship leader says "stand and lift your hands to the Lord" or something like that. In other words, I don't like it when they tell me when or how to perform some act of worship. But you know what really gets under my skin is when the preacher says "turn to the person next to you and say---------------", And they do it every few minutes!
I don't want to talk to the person next to me, if I did, I would go to their house and we would discuss something.
When I go to church and the preaching starts, I want to concentrate on the sermon, not participate in some awkward moment when I have to talk to the person beside me. I can do that later!!

Screaming easily ramps up to abuse. It's true in the home situation, and it's true in the pulpit. The ocaisional voice raising is one thing, but on the whole screaming? There are those who abhor some contemporary music because nothing more than "screaming with rhythm". If one can abhor such music, then it is reasonable to see why some abhor preachres who do nothing more than "scream with bible verses". It's not honoring, imo.Which is your preference?

What in the world are you talking about?"God's will is for preachers to scream at people?
Wheres that in the bible?"
Amen, Mike!Have you never been in a good service where the preacher is proclaiming Gods liberating gospel and he gets excited and touched by God during the message, and he SHOUTS from time to time as he proclaims Gods wonderful provision?
If not, you have missed a real blessing!
Ah, yes, the 'gift of shouting'. Remind me where that is in the Bible?Originally posted by D28guy:
Some good preachers are anointed to be very loud...even screaming. If they stopped doing it they would be out of Gods will, and much less effective.
