Personally, I think Obama floated the name of Rice to make us grateful he is nominating Kerry. We would be much better served if he would nominate the Kerrey from Nebraska. It is kind of like when gas goes to 3.99 a gallon, then we are grateful to pay 3.25 a gallon.
Kerry wouldn't be able to find his rear end with both his hands----much less try to find "whatever" on the world atlas!!!!

Senator Kerry is a good voice to have. Up until this whole Benghazi affair Secretary Clinton had run State well and was really doing a good job representing the US to the rest of the world. The Benghazi affair has been a huge black mark for the curren administration. I'm still stunned (well not really) that President Obama didn't receive blazing criticism for the administration's failure to protect an embassy. When candidate Romney didni ko i 't walk through the open door to blast President Obama over it during the debates it really represented a sad moment for our country.
All that said, I've ways been thankful for how Senator Kerry has conducted himself intentionally. He has a lot of relationships to leverage in this role. Though he isn't my ideal politician, I think he will represent the US well during his tenure.
No real surprise. Obama likes to place people who have actively worked against America in positions of influence. Kerry can help Obama with Apology Tour II.

As I said,I agree. I appreciate the fact that he had the courage and wisdom to stand up against US involvement in Vietnam back before the rest of the country realised just how terrible a mistake it was.
Socialists will love it. Those on the side of liberty and justice suffer again.

Brother, There's a world outside Baptist Board.
I happily discovered that when I stopped posting here for over a year, and I'm about to do that again.
The criticism Obummer received from the right was so scathing that I would've thought his black coating'd melt off enough for the white cream inside of him to show.
One of the many reasons he's still in power (besides some voters going third world and exchanging their intelligence with a smart phone), is because those guys in the tube who like to call themselves investigative journalists (besides the Fox guys, AT THE TIME, they've I think since joined the others) ignored the treason (I call it that) and dereliction of duties and reported on other mundane things, like how Romney parted his hair.
As for Kerry becoming a good rep for the US ?
That'll double Putin over in laughter.
NOW he knows the US is well on its way to where Russia had been.
