Should schools be allowed to utilize seclusion for students who cause problems in schools?

Is it OK for public schools to put misbehaving special-needs children in locked-door seclusion?

- a teacher was hospitalized due to injuries from a student. That student was five years old!

If seclusion is ended - should the schools be allowed to suspend students who cause problems.

NOTE: Seclusion is normally utilized for "special needs" students?

Nothing is going to work until COMMON SENSE reigns again. Liberal policies always, ALWAYS, favor a problems creator instead of a problems victim!!!!

I don't think seclusion would be useful. I'd rather spankings and paddles be brought back. That is more in line with God's discipline than seclusion.

There are a wide range of conditions that qualify as special needs. In some cases, seclusion or separation may be appropriate (not complete isolation). In other cases no.

I do not believe schools must accommodate violent children (toward teachers or other students)

A first grader was taken to the principal for behavior problems. The child had thrown the teacher against the wall.

The principal stepped out of her office to retrieve the records.

Hearing a great noise, she turned around to see the child turning the principals desk over.

The demonic forces at work as seen in the Scriptures were evident to the staff that day.

So, what did the society do? Isolated, chained, ... Did it work?

These children do not need spanking, isolation, or some other control, they need the Lord to change them.

That or lobotomy are the only two choices that I have seen that actually work.

If they are demon possessed, I doubt surgical brain damage will cure them.

The lobotomy was all the rage for a number of years, but fell into disfavor because of the debilitating side effects and overuse.

Thankfully, it is no longer a medical option in most countries.
