Here's my take.
Winners (IMHO)
Fiorina - Thought that she was the clear winner. Great responses on Planned Parenthood, Trump's comment about her and what woman should be on the $10 bill. Very specific on foreign affair/military issues. I think she'll get a good bounce from this.
Rubio - Very good. Articulate. Great response on speaking Spanish (so was Bush's). Showed a good command of foreign affairs.
Bush - Surprisingly good with energy this time. Stood up to Trump - especially when Trump denied he wanted casino gambling in Florida. In short, Trump lied about this.
Christie - Sounded like the adult in the room when Fiorina and Trump were going at it - with no help from the moderator in trying to stop it. Came off as intelligent with a sense of humor.
Losers (IMHO)
Trump - Again, no specifics - other than he's going to figure it out. His backtracking on Carly made him look wimpish (but what else could he do?). The only two specifics were (1) comments about vaccines and autism and (2) denying that he gave money to Bush when he wanted casinos in Florida.
Carson - Seemed unsure of himself. Didn't even stand up to Trump's comments about vaccines and Autism. His slow and measured responses
are beginning to look like he doesn't know the answer or doesn't want to offend anyone. Can easily come off as too weak.
Huckabee - Didn't get enough (or fight for enough) air time. His comment about putting his wife on the $10 bill (which admittedly was a bizarre question) was equally as bizarre.
Paul - Still comes across as a cult-type of candidate. He needs to say more than he's here to protect the Constitution.
Cruz - Didn't make use of his air time to stand out.
Kaisich - Like Huckabee, didn't get enough air time. However, he was forceful when he had a the chance. Good lines about Reagan and how he kept the door open with others -- even our enemies.
Walker - His "apprentice in the White House" was a good line, but quickly faded after that.

Yes we are usually 180 degrees apart. My ancestors are from your home state, so I have two great uncles who served on the Union side of the Civil War. Good basis for being Republican.
The "one side is almost as bad as the other" argument is calculated to discourage non-leftists. OTOH the two "Republicans" you mentioned are obviously RINO, and should be weeded out by Tea Party candidates during the primaries. The RINO legislation actually enabled the Iran nuke agreement, as it would have failed as a treaty needing 2/3 to pass.
Finally, slavery is bad so why vote in a way that enables the slavers (Democrates) to hold power. They use the IRS to illegally block tea party funding, while funding abortion. They have taken control of your health care, but wait till they start rationing your gasoline. There is a bill in our California legislature to do just that!!!

I agree with your top 4 picks as to who helped themselves the most I believe Trump showed just how shallow a person he is!
Apparently Carson has not jumped over Trump in a few polls.
