Actually, MS 1 is Byzantine everywhere but the Gospels, where it has a "mixed" text akin to the members of the so-called Caesarean group -- Θ, f1 (of which it is a member), f13, 565, and 700.

Yes, I know. However, I don't put much stock in the idea of a "mixed" text.

I tend to agree with M.M. Parvis writing in his article "The Nature and Task of New Testament Textual Criticism," ("The Journal of Religion," XXXII, 1952, Page 173) who said
As to the so-called "Caesarean" text-type, Bruce Metzgar said in his book "Chapters in the History of New Testament Textual Criticism," (Grand Rapids: Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing, 1963, page 67)
The whole point being, of course, that Erasmus had access to manuscripts which contain readings we now think of as peculiarly Alexandrian yet did not include them in the text of his Greek New Testament. [IMG]

I recommend you to check on the website here:
    The Bible for Today

    D. A. Waite examined the NASB. He will tell you why the NASB is not the Word of God.

Can you post an example of some of the words in the NASB which you don't consider to be literal?

4,000 words in the NASB are not literal. </font>[/QUOTE]Of course there are metaphors and other linguistic devices just as there are in the Greek and Hebrew.

Bowels of mercy or compassion would mean nothing to a person who did not understand that kind of language.

Baptism is another word that is not literal too. That started with the Anglicans (pedobaptists) in their English translation dated 1611.

Uh, well, uh, NO! The word "baptism" was in use in English from the late 11th century! It did NOT start with the Anglicans in 1611.

The Wycliff of 1380 reads "But he siz many of farisies & of saduces comynge to his baptem . . . " in Matthew 3:7.

Also the Tyndale, in the same verse reads "When he saw many of the Pharises and of the Saduces come to hys baptim . . . "

And the Geneva of 1557 reads "Now when he sawe many of the Pharises, and of the Sadduces come to his baptisme, . . . "

Can't blame the evil paedobaptists of 1611 for putting in "baptism" in the AV. It was being done regularly by paedobaptists in prior English translations.

Of course, that's still not correct, but we can't expect better from such "theologians".

I'm waiting for all the words the NASB changed (references)
