You mean the Dearborn, Michigan that is a hotbed of terrorist recruiting among Muslims?

Which is why I edited my post to remove it.

There should be more like you! The worst ones of all are the women preachers. They cause people to run for the exits.

That would be the place; but the more important part being, they are all Americans until proven enemies of the state.

Thank you for removing the reference. I was afraid that it also applied to those Iraqis and Afghans that I worked with in both countries, whose hands I was forced to put my life and well-being in -- as well as the lives and well-being of the men and women I worked with in both countries -- and who took care of me and my troops.

    Happy New Year!

Why do they have to be "proven enemies of the state" for me to have an opinion about them?

Don't get me wrong, my opinion of them still stands. I just thought the way I said it was unnecessarily provoking.

Because your opinion is racist and commits the error of over-generalization.

Yes, that's a very common tactic these days. Somebody disagrees with you? Just dismiss them as "racist". Don't like Obama? You must just be a racist.

You're correct. Your original comment was racist and offensive; doesn't necessarily mean you are, but on message boards, all we have to go by is what people write, and out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.

Again, thank you for removing it.

    Incidentally, Islam isn't a race.

Doesn't seem to have done much good. It still seems like that's all you want to talk about.

We ain't democrats, here. When we see racism, and hateful remarks, we confront them , no matter where it's coming from.

Quit getting your panties in a bunch. You made a derogatory remark that, at least in my neck of the woods since the 1980's, usually refers to people of middle eastern descent. You did right by deleting the comment. I haven't disagreed with anything else you said, just your racist comment. If you don't wanna own up to the fact that it was racist and you shouldn't have used it in the first place, the problem is with you, not the people calling out the racist comment.

I don't like Obama; it has nothing to do with skin color, and everything to do with his anti-Christian actions and lousy economic policies.

    You're correct again; it's a religious-political system.

    Thank you for editing it.

Then why do you keep bringing it up?

Rather than just calling me a racist, why don'tt you tell me what I said that's wrong?

If you insist on seeing racism where no racism exists or was intended, then that's your problem. Psychologists call it "projection".

And yet, you use his tactics and arguments.

You say that but, clearly, it's because you're a racist.

    You're correct again; it's a religious-political system.

No problem. Didn't do me much good to edit it, did it? You still insist on using it against me.

Funny, but the Bible says the Devil will often use our past sins to accuse us.

    Pretty sure I did.

Believe I explained that; you know, the part where I wrote "in my neck of the woods, since the 1980's"?

Weren't you the one that used a derogatory term towards others, then retracted it?

Your sarcasm is duly noted. However, you'll note that I've always referred to his policies and actions, and have never referred to his skin color, and especially have never referred to him by a derogatory term similar in any way to the term you used.

Yep; that's how I knew the term you used is typically considered a racial slur towards middle easterners. Used it myself, along with a few others, in the years before I got saved. Then I read about how there is neither Jew nor Greek, and how His gift is offered to all of us,.

Don, I've already acknowledged that I shouldn't have said it and even edited my post to take it out, so as not to cause further offense. I don't know what else I can do for you, but if you want to continue to bring it up even after I removed it and acknowledged three times that I was wrong, then you're just going to have to play that childish game by yourself.

Clearly, you're just looking for a fight, so I'm going to go ahead and put you on ignore now.

Perhaps one day you'll say something you regret and I'll have the opportunity to show grace to you.

You're right. Your comment hit home, and I never actually saw you apologize for posting it; just removing it without comment. I saw your own words: "My opinion still stands." Then I saw you defending against being called racist without explaining that you consider any muslim by that particular term, no matter the skin color or race of birth; and frankly, all I could think of was the friends of mine that put up with such things daily, even though they also put their lives on the line daily for our men and women.

One of my friend's 6-year-old daughter was shot through the jaw by a sniper because her father assisted US troops. He was helping us install infrastructure that bettered his country. She survived, but required multiple operations to reduce the scar damage.

Two men who worked for him were climbing an antenna tower to install microwave dishes to improve communications, and were both shot. Had to send up more people to retrieve their bodies from the climbing harnesses. They wanted to make their country better

Our interpreters aren't allowed to carry weapons to defend themselves. Sometimes it was just me and my interpreter in a building with at least twenty-five local nationals, maybe more. The days we went over to the Ministry of Defense, there were literally hundreds of them. I relied on him to interpret correctly and let me know when the conversations weren't going well; and he relied on me to keep him safe if they decided he was a "traitor" to his own people.

I've got more stories, but suffice to say, yes, you hit a sore spot; and no, I haven't been very gracious about it. Especially when I see sentences like "I'll delete it because it was unnecessarily provoking, but don't get me wrong, my opinion still stands."

Bro. Curtis, toss the rope and rein me in. I've carried this too far.
