OK, the government loaning money .... not socialism either. Do you know what socialism is all about?

Yes I do understand what socialism is and the government loaning money to make a level playing field is socialism. If the banks want to make the loans with no government backing fine, but not the tax payer.

Socialism is really an economic system that forces the redistribution of resources.

Democracy and a republic are forms of government. The United States of America is a democratic-republic. A democracy in the sense that we elect our Congress by popular vote, and a republic in the sense that the Congress represents us. We also elect the President indirectly. I am in a minority, but I like the electoral college, even when it does not go my way, and the popular vote is a different result.

Simple explaination:
Democracy = rule by majority

Republic = Rule by law

We elect the officials who are to follow the law (i.e. the Constitution). Benjamin Franklin is said to have been asked by a woman what are you giving us and he said a republic Maam but it is up to you to keep it.

We haven't accomplished that very well with either party, it has become more and more rule by the majority rather than rule by law.

A socialist education programme

THIS ANALYSIS OF the history of education, including the contribution of Marxist educationalists, can help outline the main elements of a socialist education programme.

Socialists must stand for free, high quality education for all, from nursery to university. We call for a massive increase in public spending to provide the increased staffing, smaller class sizes, good quality resources and buildings needed to ensure the best education and individual support for every child.

That is a good way to look at it. We have moved more towards a democracy since our founding. State legislatures used to elect US Senators. I personally think there should be stricter qualifications to be electors in the electoral college.

And other than paying for it which of the ideas expressed are you against?

Increased staffing?

Against it. Have no idea what this means.

Smaller class size?

Classes are small enough

Good quality resources?

Very vague, and who determines this?

Good education?

The public school system is not capable of doing this as things stand with the current left wing agenda.

Support for each child?

This is the parents job.

Which of these ideas are so terrible?

If socialism is seeking these things they have a completely different view of what each of these should be and conservatives do. I do not trust them.

Now that I have answered your questions meant to distract from the reason I posted that address the real issue being addressed here.
