Now back to Senator Obama, who is apparently covering all of the bases.

He is a Democrat. The Democratic platform is pro-abortion. That takes care of the white woman feminist vote.

He is half-white (and seems to omit that frequently) and is proud of his black heritage. That takes care of the black vote.

He claims to be a Christian. That takes care of the Christian vote.

To take care of the Jewish vote, "At a meeting with Palestinian students Thursday, Obama said the US will never recognize winning Hamas candidates unless the group renounces its fundamental mission to eliminate Israel, and Obama told ABC7 he delivered that message to the Palestinian president." Source - ABC News - which probably influenced his endorsement by a Jewish organization.

He admits to cocaine usage - that takes care of that dirty little secret coming out in the middle of a presidential campaign.

He has called for earned citizenship for illegal immigrants - that takes care of the Hispanic vote.

It looks like he is covering his bases pretty well in this game.

And that's what it is, folks. A game.

Not that Republicans don't do the same thing - they do. Our present leader exemplifies being everything to everyone to get the votes.

Best as I can tell, he does not try to rationalize his usage of years and years ago...the "I didn't inhale" defense.

I doubt I vote for Obama, but one's sinfulness in youth, as long as it is distant past and disavowed, doesn't automatically disqualify someone from leadership, in my book. There are exceptions in the legal realm (if he had a felony conviction). But I'm scared of a "witch hunt" mentality that goes decades back for dirt.

Are there actions that he could have done 20 years ago that would make me disqualify him based on that action? Sure...high treason would be one example, IMO. But drug experimentation, as sinful as it is...I want to see remorse, a disavowing of the lifestyle, and plausible evidence of change.
