I came accross a SDA website that denies the Trinity. I was always under the impression that the SDA's upheld the doctrine of the Trinity. It seems that originally the SDA movement denied the Trinity until 1931, about 9 years after Ellen White's death, when it was altered. I didn't know this, I wonder what Bob would say about it, haven't heard from him for quite awhile.

At the beginning the SDA and JW movement were entertwined to some degree.

The SDA is a peculiar denomination -- evangelical orthodoxy mixed with cult-like emphases. Example: required belief in soul sleep, and requirement to worship on Saturday. Plus, Ellen White's writings elevated to near-scripture.

They do have some good ideas with regard to diet -- very healthy.

Yes, the McKee family, who operate the Little Debbie snacks company, are devout Adventists.

When I was a kid I was told they were just Christians who worship on Saturday because it is the real sabbath. Now I understand them to be a cult with some Christian ideals splashed around.

I believe elevating a person to an authorative prophet and basing your understandings of scripture upon that one person's writings qualifies the movement as being a cult.

It was interesting to discover that they originally condemned the teaching of the Trinity.

My findings - through experience, mates - have through the years boiled down to the certain similarity of all Christian Churches. Without exception they harbour UNSCRIPTURAL dogmas SOMEHOW OR OTHER.

Jesus saves SINNERS; none else, no matter with whom you assimilate. If not you are saved BECAUSE you are a sinner, Christ has become of NO effect for _you_, mister!

Individuals within denominations may harbor unscriptual doctrines, but I don't see most all denominations declaring unscriptual dogmas in their statements of beliefs.

GE:

Certainly the commonest COMPLETELY UN-SCRIPTURAL dogma held by just about every church there is on planet earth, today, AND WHEREBY EVERYONE DISAGREEING IS EXCLUDED FROM THE CHURCH, is Sunday-sacredness and Sunday-worship.

For this holy cow of Christianity, Christianity CORRUPTED the Scriptures so as to manufacture a FAKED basis of 'Scripture' for it. The process of corrupting the Scriptures TO THIS END, began in the second century AD and has continued UNABATED until this very day of ours.

Christianity EARNS to be labelled 'false prophet', 'Babylon' --- any and all of the terrible names found in Revelation for the woman dressed in scarlet. For her _Sunday-idolatry_ the church is NO BRIDE OF CHRIST.

Then – make no mistake – do not think for a moment this justifies the Seventh-day Adventist and all other Sabbatharian ‘churches’! The SDAs are the leaders among Sabbatharians in producing corrupted ‘Bibles’ of their own ‘inspiration’ and ‘authority’, that support the Sundayers’ Bibles all the way, word for word, with regard to the specific Scriptures concerned. Their ‘prophetess’ Ellen G. White authored and hallmarked some of the best known and most used songs of veneration and elevation to Sunday, while she and her church JUST LIKE the Sundaydarians DENY the Sabbath Day its ONLY Christian reason for being.

The early Church (1st Century) worshiped upon the first day of the week. That is Sunday, not Saturday.

And why, oh why, didn't the Apostles correct them? After all, they had been to synagogues on the Sabbath pre-crucifixion.

The fact is, God accepts worship any day of the week... even if that day is a Sunday. He did in the 1st Century AD.

I don't see it. Christian are free to gather together for corporate worship as often as they like on any day. I haven't seen any statement of beliefs that say you must worship on Sunday from any of the denominations I have come accross. I know you have the SDA's stuck on Saturdays and that is unscriptural.

Actually the early church met daily in many cases.

Col 2 and Rom 14 should defuse any such worship of a specific day and illustrates our freedom in Christ. Yes, many today do hold Sunday to be a sacred day. However, I know of several churches in my area that meet on other nights. A few have Saturday night services, one on Tuesday evening, and one on Wednesday evening.

Now the reason I determined that the SDA is a cult is because of the elevation, to the point of worship, of their early leader and her writings. The additional bondage to dietary and other rules certainly does not help their case.

You can never separate love and truth just like you can never separate hate and untruth. The Seventh Day Sabbath of the LORD GOD is hated-- therefore so much untruth is spread around about it. Like yours, that "The early Church (1st Century) worshiped upon the first day of the week."

A LIE born of hate for truth, in this case GOD'S Sabbath's truth.

And Yes, God demands worship every day of one's life; and of the Church's life, God demands "SABBATHS", "... eating and drinking of Feast whether of (occasional) month's or of SABBATHS' " 'weekly' recurrence, "... CHRIST BEING THE SUBSTANCE of Feast ..." and "... NOURISHMENT ministered".

"DO NOT let anyone condemn you with regard to ..." it!

But, CORRUPTED the Sunday-lovers the Word of God's Love, and made it say the word of their hate, "Let nobody prescribe to you to keep the Sabbath!" NAB.

The Seventh Day Advents believe in the false doctrine of soul sleep. They do not believe in the life of the spirit given to us through obedience to Christ. They are a dead religion believing in what I call the doctrine of death.
