I can and do hand sew certain things. It usually looks like Dr. Frankenstein's work, but it's solid. I let mom do it if it needs to look good.

Yup, but not good with the electric needle. I do needlepoint, embroidery...surface, Or Nue, crewel, stump work. I repair liturgical items, use knitting and crochet needles, and sometimes patchwork although I loathe quilting by hand with an intense passion.

I only know how to sew by my hand. I am not really good at making clothes, but I am able to fix/mend rips in clothing. I sometimes throw DIY project and give my old clothes new fashion twist. :)

i do have a sewing machine but when I sew I always sew by hand. I don't sew as much as I use to though now that my kids are grown.

I used to make most of my clothes when I was a stay at home mom. When I started teaching, that hobby slowly disappeared. Now I mainly mend.

Does replacing buttons count? Because that's about the extent of my sewing. :)

YES, most definitely. I can sew by hand or using a machine. In the past years, I've tried sewing my own blouses. Unfortunately, I don't think they're store-quality, yet. But I guess I'm improving on it the more I try to sew one. Thanks to my sister who always seems to have a project in her mind, I get to practice more of my sewing skills. The best thing I like about having my own sewing machine is I get to save tons as regards mending torn clothes, esp. jeans. Altering jeans is expensive, but with my machine, I've altered a lot of my jeans. When I lost a lot of weight due to a health condition, I went on 'altering jeans' frenzy. My only regret is that when I gained the weight again, I could no longer alter them back, haha.

I would love to be able to sew but sewing machines scare me. I can sew buttons and cross stitch and I can sew up my knitted garments but that is about it.

I sew and own both a sewing machine and a serger! Knowing how to use them came in handy while makeing curtians in Africa!
I find sewing a pleasure when I finish!

Whatsoever I rip, that shall I sew... and too often it's vice versa. But that's my extent.
