Shaking off the snake sermon

And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. - Acts 28

There are snakes that come out of the fire in life to bite us! (not intended to be a snake handling sermon :) )

Personally, a sermon that allegorizes a historical event repulses me.
Furthermore, although I might listen to a woman preacher, one that prances and drawls their words would have me walking out quickly.

1. I am not a member of the Fairlawn Church of God
2. I am not a supporter of that evangelists ministry

But… I did enjoy the service and everyone there was friendly. I also left with the feeling of my heart being warmed with the presence of the Holy Spirit. I will visit them on occasion for special events. Friendly staff!
