I was baptized in a baptistry during Summer break after my Sophomore year of College. My pastor hitched up his camo waders and dunked me in the water.
Around here most of our Churches (Missionary Baptist, Union Baptist, Primitive Baptist, Regular Baptist) baptize in creeks. That mountain water is spring-fed and cold and in the peak of summer, on our hottest 85 degree days, the creek will still be 50 degrees.
We have these 2ft long salamanders that live in our creeks here officially called Hellbenders, but we call them "Water Dogs". Can you imagine getting baptized and having one of them swimming up on you? Haha
