Absolutely heartbreaking. The LE briefing initially stated a SRO engaged the shooter at the door, was wounded, but caused the shooter to drop a bag of ammo at the door.

Now, they say that never happen.

peace to you
I am most disturbed that the L E. Staged for 40 minutes and did not engage the active shooter. A lone border patrol agent went in on his own and ended it. The rest of the cowards were standing by too scared to go in. Waiting for SWAT is probably their excuse. You don't wait for anyone in a school shooting. You go in. If you are not willing, hand in the badge because you are too big a coward to wear it.

I thought after the columbine debacle they trained LEOs on the scene to respond right away, not wait around.

No after columbine they hide the information until they passed clint0ns pistol grip ban. Not until then were the media allowed to tell the truth that the sheriffs office made students stay in the school as the shooters were still shooting .

They did. Those officers must have been on vacation during that training.

We had a workplace shooting up in Hesston Ks a few years back. The local city cop went in by himself and shot the perpetrator. If one is afraid of the risks of being an LEO it would be wise to look for different work as you are just a liability at that point.
As a side note, the legalistic Mennonite church in Hesston shunned the Officer for killing the guy.

The Mennonite church here shunned a member for training Police dogs. I always found it odd that they didn't mind calling Sheriff's office when some of their high dollar farm equipment got stolen.

They carry on the traditions of the Pharisees very well. I can't help but think they would question Jesus for healing on the sabbath.

He is telling lies. The head of the Texas Rangers said today that officers should have immediately made entry and engaged the gunman.
Or he didn't have enough facts. But you are still correct. They should have responded as the Texas ranger had said. Unfortunately, only some lawman have real skills with firearms.

Let me get this straight. The poor initial officers on the scene received gun fire so they had wait to get the right equipment??? That is his defense for the non-action?! ...I better not even get started on this!!!...

Don't understand why they had to stage for that long. If we get an EMS or Fire Call and dispatch calls us to stage prior to going on scene, it typically takes 40 minutes until we get LE on-scene.

If we can get an LE response way out in the boonies in 40 mins, surely an elementary school in town should have a sufficient LE response within 10 minutes.

Someone needs to account for what in the world they were doing during that massive wait. That's the equivalent to us firefighters coming onscene to a structure fire and doing nothing but pulling hose for 40 minutes while we debate an exterior/interior attack/defense, yet not putting water on it WHILE there's people inside. Whoever was IC for this event really messed up.

They were scared. They let kids die because they were scared. A coward can always find some piece of equipment he "needs" as an excuse to wait. Active shooter protocol says you act IMMEDIATELY with who you have and what you have. You don't wait!

By delaying they all but guaranteed those kids would be slaughtered! Run a truck or a freakin school bus through the door, use it for cover and kill the SOB. Man get some deer rifles and start reining down bullets. And none of these cops had any body armor… please! What are these guys, Mayberry RFD ( Barney Feif squad) !?!
