Shaq has expressed an interest in working to solve crimes against children, specifically Internet predators. I would hate to be an Internet predator thinking I was going to meet with a helpless little kid and suddenly end up face to face with The Big Diesel.

If I saw Shaq coming for me, it wouldn't be hard to track me down. Just follow the line of pee

He was a reserve officer when he was in LA, and I believe he is an honorary deputy US Marshal as well.

One thing about Shaq is that he is an interesting character. He has an MBA, is quite funny, and wants to be a cop. And he also can play basketball too. Now if only he would work on his horrendous free throw average...

I imagine his free throws would be quite good if he grabbed someone caught in a crime.

After seeing a man throw a bottle and yell anti-gay slurs at a passer-by, O'Neal trailed the man and helped an officer arrest him as a hate-crime suspect.
I'm a bit confused re: this statement.
Had a crime been committed, and this guy was a suspect, or did his actions just make Shaq decide that he needed arresting because he may commit a "hate-crime"?

Maybe the guy had warrants out and Shaq is using this as PR.

Civilians should always stay out of the fray and let the authorities do their jobs. Honorary does not mean trained OR charged with the duties of a law enforcement official.
