Sharpening A Theology to Save America from Calamity

I see all of the plagues we as a country have suffered in the last few years, and the careless response we have seen through this unrest, as God's judgment.

“Is a trumpet blown in a city,
and the people are not afraid?
Does disaster come to a city,
unless the Lord has done it?” Amos 3:6 (ESV)

Al Qaeda, ISIS, China and Russia conquering, North Korean ICBMs, Iranian expansion, Coronavirus, the economy crashing, the crazy weather, floods, and fires, riots and looting, and a string of foolish politicians that seem useless. We are, given the bible, clearly suffering at God's hands.

Our leaders in America won't do the right thing: Bring us to Jesus Christ and repentance. A repentance that will lead us to bless the righteous and rebuke the wicked so our nation is exalted. (Proverbs 11:11; Proverbs 24:25; Proverbs 11:31)

Our nation needs to understand it is increasingly under God's wrath. Our nation needs to repent, cleanse its ways, and put genuine faith in Jesus Christ. To do God's will with circumcised hearts. The existence of a small group of holy and righteous Brethren in America, having faith in Jesus Christ, has not stopped the calamities. Our existence as a holy people among Americans, suffering side by side, no longer seems enough to ward off grave danger.

It seems we need to repent like Ninevah, in the Book of Jonah, to secure our future.

How can this theology be applied? Because it seems to me that the best we can do is continue to be faithful and preach the Gospel as we should. Should the Brethren organize even more to specifically save America?

However, what say the guys and gals of the Baptist Board to this theology? Am I off? If so, how do I correct things?

Oh baloney, we're suffering at the hands of the left wing radicals of the Democrat party and their mainstream media allies.

Hide & watch, wait & see, the silent majority is getting an education and a wake up call from all this craziness from the left.

Lol, I see where Trump is going to resume his rallies...

True, but we're also suffering because of a timid passive Church. The Church used to touch the culture in America. Its voice has become mute, and often a passive mimicker of the world.

IMO, if America is judged, God will judge the silent passive church first.

The American 'evangelical church' changed from feeding the sheep to subtly fleecing the sheep all in the cause of populating heaven. 'Give us money and we will spread the gospel and more people will go to heaven'. The basic vital truths of God from the scripture have been squelched for decades.

You know, that's a very good point. Already a number of people are claiming this is the great falling away. I dont know if we're that close to the End, but it speaks to an evangelical church in America increasingly dead.

I will mention the church of Sardis early in the Book of Revelation. We have a name but are dead. The SBC is threatened increasingly by false teaching. Most other evangelicals are going liberal theologically or just Charismatic crazy. I had to find an IFB church in a three year hunt to hear sound biblical teaching.

Then again, this is the opportunity for what's left to tell the truth and labor in the fields of the harvest. As much as I hate to say it though, I'm too young in the faith to have a big impact for a while. For now, my future is in the hands of upright shepherds.
