Of course abortion supporters don't want it voted on, why would they?

 

I am not an abortion supporter and I dont want it voted on. Abortion is wrong no matter if the people agree or not. Even if 51% of people want abortion it should still be outlawed.

The reason you are saying to vote on it is because you can see that the majority of people would vote no. And I agree they would and I want it to be gone also. However next week maybe the majority would vote yes. Would you still want to go with there popular vote. If we had a vote and your side lost the majority wanted abortion would you say OK I guess it is what the people want so it is ok with me.

Of course not because abortion is wrong no matter what a majority of people say. And that is the point this thread is trying to make.

 

Roe v. Wade should be overturned and let the states decide the issue for themselves, as they did ante-Roe.

I see what you're saying, that abortion is a moral sin no matter what popular opinion is, and that legalizing it never made it legitimate anyways? Close?

But doesn't it still bother you that Roe v. Wade is the law of the land, a law that never even came up for a vote except by nine justices?

 

Right, and correct we are not a democracy, we are a Republic.

It does bother me. It bothers me alot that the courts are making law.

I would agree with FromtheRight on this, except the constution already protects the right to life. The states can not decide an issue in opposition to the constitution of the US. IF a state choose to allow abortion (some would) then that state would be in violation of the constitution.

 

The 14 amendment to the constitution forbids any state to deny to any person "life, liberty or property, without due process of law"

The 14th already forbids states from making a choice other then outlawing abortion.
