The polls are not accurate due to the hostility toward conservatives and true Christians. When pollsters call, many people refuse to participate because they do not trust the person or the organization calling them.
Then to make it worse, there are new cons every day. Many of us don't trust anyone who calls us on the phone. We fear the person wanting our information is doing it to rip us off. For older people who are more likely to be conservative, it may be easier to just hang up than to have to worry about having a con pulled on them.
