Should Post-it Stay or Leave?

post-it

<img src=/post-it.jpg>
Now that the atheists have been erased. I am concerned that I could be zapped next. I understand why the atheists were taken off, even though I disagree with that call. When a sword is cured in fire, it becomes stronger, not weaker. However, their concern must have been for the new or weak Christian who might be swayed by their deceptive arguments.

But now I have to ask myself how my opposition to certain doctrine will be seen. I don't want to be banned but I could understand if they would prefer to keep everyone here in one single mind.

I can go along with the status quo and input within the given Baptist doctrine, but I can't grow doing that and since I use this board to grow, I would have no need of this board any longer. As Paul instructed, I test everything (doctrine) and I keep the good. I take nothing without testing it against scripture. I fear that that may not be allowed anymore here. I hear reg members telling me I am hurting people.

I don't know if I should even continue speaking my opinion about my thoughts regarding Christianity as a life-long Baptist. I guess I should take a poll of you members that have enjoyed or hated my posts to see if you would prefer that I stay or leave. It may help me and the leadership to make a decision on this matter.

I have no more interest in spending most of my time in the AAD now that there is no one there. That means I would be wanting to remain in these areas of the board. But I don't want to be where I'm not wanted either. If you vote that I stay, I will not make it any easier than I have already. I will question and put your beliefs to the test. You will have to know what the heck you really believe to debate me. I will be looking for any weak point and will attack it until you fix it or prove me wrong. But then again, you can just ignore me too.

Would each one that reads this please vote either that I stay on BB or that I leave BB. I will abide by the vote and do what the majority votes.

1. Post-it should Leave
2. Post-it should Stay

It's not our opinions that count, it's Gods. If you understand the concept of 'spiritual incest' you may better understand the direction that is best for you. But, ...

Not our will, but His be done.

Stay, stay, stay.

The spectrum will already be reduced when the (still undefined) heretics are kicked off.

If we can't listen to at least dissident Baptists, what's the point?

There is no "one mind" on the board.

Hey Bro. Post-It, was that a trick question or something? ;) Let me put it this way: How could you not stay?! Should I say more?

Well Barnabas,

I beleive it is because some of his beliefs would be considered heretical by others on this board about homosexuality. You see, he doesn't believe there is anything wrong with it. I think it was stated in one of the announcements that all heretics would be banned. Would this not include Baptist heretics who are pro-homosexual? And while we're asking questions, how far will it go? Will there be a creed for everyone to sign in our future in order to be a member here on this board? Will liberal Baptists who we disagree with on things like Creation, Women in ministry, and homosexuality, be banned or will they be allowed to stay? Let's get everybody's thought about the direction of this board out in the open and be honest about where we want to go with it instead of just waking up one day and banning certain people without as much as an e-mail explaining why. It is called "Loving your enemies" and "respect" and other things like that which we seem to have ignored here recently.

I believe post-it should stay. Why?

1. He doesn't denigrate the faith or cause my faith to waiver, despite having opposing views to mine re: abortion, homosexuality, and even the end times (even though he is 100% wrong! :D :D :D ).

2. He is polite in his posts and not mean-spirited.

3. He has a wonderful sense of humor. ;)

I vote stay.. I like your posts. Some I agree with and some I disagree with. That is the nature of debate. The question that has to be answered is our we banning those few for their opinions or the way they go about expressing their opinions (ie: flaming, denegrading, and name calling.)

I hadn’t ever seen any of your posts till today. After I reading a little of your statements, and because you asked, I say GO!

I applaud the moderator for having the backbone to stop providing teachers of damnable heresies a public forum. In the light of 2 John 1:8-11 I think it was the correct thing to do.

PS: what an ego you have!

I haven't read any of your posts that I remember, for one reason--I don't come here nearly as often as I used to. I grew up believing Baptists were defenders of religious freedom, not people who were afraid of different views or in favor of religious censorship.

I say stay; if everyone with differing views from the fundie party line leaves, there'll be nothing left but people patting each other on the back and telling each other how wonderful and "right" they are--does that remind you of any folks from Jesus's time?

If y’all have such a bur in your saddle, over post getting deleted, why don’t you get your own board and you can not delete all you want?

I won't comment or vote as to whether or not Post it should stay, that is his choice.
My only thought on the matter is that possibly he should be listed in the other religions section, as his beliefs seem to align better with other groups.
As to his asking for votes and saying that he will listen to the majority concerning his leaving, it is mind boggling to me because on several occasions lately he has refused to listen to God's word.
In my opinion he can now do less harm because of the decision to stop the atheist's from coming in. Soon there will be fewer non believers around to hear his brand of Baptist theology.

BPM, I think your experience with baptist groups has been very narrow indeed. You and I come from the same state, and seem to constantly have different impressions about what baptists do.

Nevertheless, Post-It does believe in the same baptist distinctives that define our tradition.
