Most people are familiar with that Republican statement in the Gettysburg Address.

The party of the MAGA National Conservatives, led by Donald Trump, is nothing like the Republican Party of Abraham Lincoln.

Oh I forgot, you want to say what could be, if you are allowed to tear down what has been.

You can post "taint so" till the cows come home, but the Democrats are the Party of Slavery, Jim Crow, Segregation, and DEI

“We see what can be, unburdened by what has been.”

This phrase is a modified version or interpretation of the verbiage from Communist leader Mao Tse-tung (Zedong), a motto of his regime to justify killing or starving millions in an attempt to bring about a socialist utopia in China.

What, wait, now the phrase is being disavowed! :)

They are wandering in the dark. This is what happens when they try to look like their words are deep with meaning. Well, they are deep with meaning……Marxist/Communist meaning. Better go back to word salad. Just today they have declared that Timmy ‘misspoke’ about his own record. How does one do that in a sane world? They don’t. They just lie.

What is your source for this quote being attributed to Mao Tse-tung? I have searched for it and have not found it.

The last U.S. president who tried to adhere to the U.S. Constitution was Grover Cleveland. SNIP

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth by unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

How is the Truth suppressed? By claiming what is untrue to be true. And by claiming what is true is untrue. Thus to invert the truth by unrighteous behavior.

The claim all the Presidents since Mr. Cleveland did not try to adhere to the Constitution is Marxist screed, trying to tear down actual history and replace it with falsehood calculated to destroy patriotic behavior. Do these people know these claims are based on speculation about the unknown motives of past Presidents? Of course, this fact is evident to them.

What is your reason for not addressing the topic.

The last U.S. president who tried to adhere to the U.S. Constitution was Grover Cleveland. I seriously doubt that the two big government parties, the Republican Party and the Democratic Party, will nominate someone for president like Grover Cleveland any time soon. Thus, the United States has a $35 trillion(and growing) national debt, a fiat paper monetary system, that continues to depreciate the U.S. dollar, instead of a gold-standard monetary system, and government growing in size, reach, and scope.

Are you admitting that you don't know if the quote is true or not?

Are you trying to change the subject to invert truth?

Are you admitting that you don't know if what you quoted is accurate? Did you just see it somewhere on the internet or on a news channel or a YouTube video or hear it on a radio program, or such, and are just running with it without having verified it? Or do you know that it is accurate?

I am not saying it is not accurate. I would simply like to know where the quote came from - a speech or a writing by Mao - so that I can verify it for myself.

Speaking of Grover Cleveland:

"If free-market advocates could resurrect a U.S. president to deal with today's problems, many would choose Grover Cleveland.

He understood economics — a rare commodity among presidents.

Even so-called conservatives who talk free market often deliver the opposite. Richard Nixon gave the nation wage and price controls. George W. Bush expanded the central planning of Medicare to include prescription drugs.

Contrast that with Cleveland. He vetoed hundreds of spending bills, refusing to succumb to political temptation whether it was wrapped in patriotism or sob stories."
