Since ISIS is at war with us, should we take them serious or continue to place them or perpetual ignore?

Is bombing the crap out of them really ignoring them though? I'd be willing to bet my paycheck that if we were to go full on boots on the ground everybody here would switch to the argument of "I thought he was supposed to end the war in Iraq!"

Obama wants to be the Community Organizer President, which is why he appears to be more interested in disarming America's citizens than her enemies.

I heard on tv that we have 1,000 moccasins on the ground right now but it goes against the Democrats in an election year to focus on the fact that the Democrats ran against the war in Iraq for many years. Afterall in 2012, our popular fundraiser/golfer campaigned on the fact that he had ended the war in Iraq and brought the troops home.

Once again, I'm flummoxed to understand the survey question. It appears to mean "should the U.S. declare war on ISIS?" If so, my answer is no, because what sovereign nation is ISIS? Where are its borders? Who's the leader? And what about ISIL? Is that another entity?

Would you like cheese with that whine?

It makes me feel good inside to know I can flummox you all the time. You must have failed high school. The question is not that hard, and according to ISIS, they have borders set by a religious califate.

Look light dude if my surveys bother you, QUIT reading posts from me with a survey attached. I'd hate to think my ability to flummox you would send you to an early grave via a stroke or heart attack.

It isn't that the poll is hard. It's that it is stupid to anyone who passed a high school government class. We declare war with nations not with gangs or terrorists cells. They don't need anymore validation.

I'm fairly certain that Mensa members couldn't figure out what you are trying to say. Oh, and califate (sic) is spelled c-a-l-i-p-h-a-t-e.

But then again, you are a published author and I'm not.

I hate to be subtle but I never picked up your argument at all. I said that it went against Democrat ideology to say that we were at war or involved in a military action because Democrats have campaigned on the fact that they withdrew from the war and brought the troops home.

I voted that we should not acknowledge the war with ISIS, or whatever they are called now.

It is an election year. The Democrats occupy the White House. Let the Democrats decide what to do.

Yes I am and you are right ... you are not published, just an arm chair quarterback. As a published author I have proof readers and editors to fix my errors. Would you like a job? Nice catch on c-a-l-i-p-h-a-t-e

I could have a full time job just trawling BB and correcting mistakes. Proof readers (sic) is spelled p-r-o-o-f-r-e-a-d-e-r-s. And arm chair (sic) is spelled a-r-m-c-h-a-i-r.

and now back to the real OP

Lets say we do declare war on Isis - with the provision that we go in to win!

How many troops should we send?
On 6 Jun 44, we sent over 150,000 troops ashore.
(at about 15,000 / division that would have been about 10 divisions)
During the Battle of the Bulge, there were 600,000 troops fighting. (about 40 divisions)

If we are going to do a job - lets do it right.

I suggest even at the threat of another beheading - we declare war, the Active Army prepares for move out, , put the Reserves/NG on full alert -, the IRR is notified, and the draft re-starts-

Lets do the job - and this time we do it right. Those Generals who were fired - get them back on AD -
and reactivate about 20 Divisions.
