Should we do as the Jehovah Witnesses do?

Ok, I dont agree with the Jehovah Witnesses when it comes to the whole doctrine, its all false. However they do have some things that I believe that we as Christians should follow.

KINGDOM HALL: Now and days you drive down a road and you find multiple churches in just one street. I know a street here in Orlando where to be honest there are about 25 Churches in just 10 miles of driving. Think about the cost's of maintaining these buildings, insurances, light bills, phone bills, landscaping, maintance and not to mention the huge burden this places on the members.

In the Jehovan Witnesses they have one Kingdom hall per 25 miles I believe and they share that building with all the congregations at different times of the week. This way what ever a member gives, it is all placed for good use. Also, since they all use the same building they use this as a tool to make sure who ever is preaching their false gospel, continues to preach that false gospel and to make sure they are united.

PREACHING IN STREET CORNERS: Today most young preachers and most preachers in general are banging at pastors door's asking for the opportunity to preach but what about the street corners. What if we Christians did that Jehovah Witneses do and stood out in front of stores, buildings and go knock door to door. I mean if we young preachers really want to preach and minister to others we should just stand up in a corner of a street. Dont get me wrong we are not saved by works but by the Grace of God. However as Christians we should want to share the true Gospel of Christ.

Imagine if all Churches united for one purpose, to preach the Gospel of Christ in this country. I mean to preach the true Gospel of Christ, not like the Jehovah Witnesses do. If they who are preaching this false non-sense do it then whey dont us who really know the truth arent?

While I respect what you are saying, I find street preachers to be loud and obnoxious nutjobs. They typically end up shouting out to people, calling them whoremongers and such. Not a group that speaks well of Christianity. In fact, I believe it turns people away, thinking, "If that is Christianity, I want no part of it". I know they have a First Amendment right to do so (as long as they don't use bullhorns), but they come of as fruitcakes.

On that one I agree and I dont thinks its the appropriate way to do it. However I know of some who do it in love and not screaming or anything. We cant just use the fact that some do it wrong as an excuse not to do it. Also, I am not saying its mandatory for us to do this but I think it would be awesome.

What about the Kingdom Hall Idea that I wrote about. Does that make sense to you?

Just as is the case with the RCC -- the JW doctrine is not "all false".

You are right that some of the practices they have are simply the practices of a determined and dedicated group. They have grown very quickly using that method.


They attend some kind of church/Bible study event 5 times a week for example.

I know that not all their doctrine is wrong, however to me if someone says that Jesus was just a good man and and compare him to Michal the Angel, that just does it for me. Do you think that God will still save the Jehovah Witnesses even though they deny that Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross?

I honestly dont think so but who am I to say..

Just a kind of side note, but around here none of the Kingdom Halls have any windows. The only other buildings around here without windows are bars (not that I'm calling them a bar, but I just found it interesting). Is it the same where y'all are?

Maybe they don't want the "Light" to shine in.

There is one by my house and it looks like a pretty cool building. Its bricks on the outside and has only a few windows. You are correct on that, hardly any windows.

I just posted a link to a blog where JWs are similar to Dispensationalists. And here TaliOrlando, a full blown Dispensationalist, is saying "we" should be more like the JWs. Unbelieveable!!!

:laugh: First of all I have no clue what Dispensationalist means. If you could please tell me I would appreciate it.. Second, did you read my initial post. I didnt say we should be like the Jehovah Witnesses, I just said that the fact that they have only one Kingdom Hall per 25 miles and also share it with other congregations its an awesome Idea, or do you prefer having a huge church every corner with over 15,000 plus in monthly expenses including rent, land, light, water, phone, internet, pastors and deacons, maintanance ext.... and its not just one Church like this there are 1,000's of them. Many in the body have enough trouble supporting themselves yet many churches expect members to give all they have to support a Building. That's all I said... and also I said about preaching to people in the streets and stuff.

Also, did you read my second post here where I said that I dont believe they are saved because they deny Jesus as their saviour. I am waiting for your response on Dispensationalist because I am honest when I say I dont know what that means. I will google it in a few though and check it out.. :laugh:

I honestly hate labels, I am a young Christian who is trying to do his best. Any positive input that you could provide me on how I can improve in the Lord would be appreciated but if you are going to call a fellow brother in Christ names, judging without knowing is not a good thing. I know you probably didnt do it on purpose and who knows maybe a Dispensationalist is a good thing. I will find out when I google it because I am sure the word Dispensationalist is not in the word. :laugh:

Neither does your debate opponent. In fact, I've seen very few dispy smashers who know "what Dispensationalist means".

Once a person said they didn't believe in 'god'. I asked them what the 'god' was like that they didn't believe in. I don't believe in a 'god' like that either. If anybody wants to know what dispensationalism I believe in, feel free to ask. I've already written the answer and those who prefer research to typing will have already read it.

I really have a time with people who like to argue with me and don't bother to read what I write. For example, I'm a pretribulation rapturist - but I don't agree 100% with LaHaye of LEFT BEHIND fame.

A dispensationalist is one who thinks God runs series of experiments to get people saved. When one experiment fails God changes the rules for salvation and tries a new experiment. Each dispensation is a different experiment.

You see, there are so many brands and branches of dispensationalism, once I find who your teachers are, then I can narrow down the which flavor of dispensationalism you are.

I'm Keeping JWs witnessing ferver (but have tossed thier belief that such good works keeps them saved. I witness cause Jesus saved me, not so Jesus will save me.)

Back in 1988 , I was on a chat line talking to a JW. I'm Baptist & he was JW. We determined to make a statement upon which we agreed. Here is the statement:
