Operative word in this paragraph is "may"... </font>[/QUOTE]thjat is not the part that is unclear. What is unclear is that some of what he claims to mean is not in the post above it.

Again, I am saying that if you feel like the Lord would have you give up wearing pants and you obey His leading, you personally will be closer to Him than if you didn't obey Him. It has nothing to do with anyone else. I'm sorry, but I can't make myself any clearer than this.

Thankful

Perhaps, we should omit dresses and pants and say,

If God convicts a Christian to do something, then that Christian should obey Him and by obeying Him, the Christian will be walking closer to God.

I pastor several such women. I also pastor several women who have given up wearing pants. I love them all. I do not categorize the ladies in the church into "pants" and "non-pants" groups.

Kinda makes you want to have a cyber group-hug doesn't it.

Seriously though, as a pastor, I have to do my best to bring my people to the closest walk with God possible. That is why I preach separation (II Cor. 6:17), that is why I preach holy living (I Peter 1:15), that is why I encourage our folks to make decisions for the Lord and stick to them (II Thess 2:15).

BTW, I have been here at this church for 4 1/2 years now. I have not preached one message dedicated to the subject of women wearing pants. I have preached a few times on the principle of modesty (I Tim. 2:9).

modesty is a good lesson. I wear pants, not to services, but as I have said before, I feel no sort of a conviction NOT to wear pants. I grew up wearing pants, my Mother, who was a Deacon's wife, wore pants, and I see nothing wrong with pants (I do not wear pants to services, remember). Nothing in the Bible about pants on women. So I am fine with it. I am NOT a legalist, I am saved by grace. There are bigger fish to fry in the pond of the unbelievers.

My wife says she should just wear baggy clothes of any cut to hide her lower body and upper body from being oogled (as much as can be hidden) Tight clothes; Shirt, Skirt, Pants, whatever....Defeat the purpose. Maybe we could take a message from the Arabs about modesty.

A dress does not change your relationship with Christ. It is not about if you have on pants or a dress. It is about you and him and what he wants you to do not what someone else thinks. Do what Christ leads you to do.

I know as a teenager back in the 70s, us guys preferred to date girls that went to churches that required them to wear dresses and skirts all the time....so it might not be the best idea in the world!!!!

Yes. Women should wear dresses all the time. Never take them off. Absolutely never. And the truly spiritual men will wear robes all the time, just like in the Bible days, or like spiritual Muslims do today in Arab countries. Just think how much more spiritual we would all be if we wore dresses and robes, preferably white, all the time.
