you can say that about anything don't go out of your house for three months and see how people dress you will be shocked all over again. don't go to a christian book store for three months then go in and be surprised at the selection of music displayed, or even worse played on the speaker. don't drive on the freeways for three months then take a 6 hour trip better yet just go take a drive and be shocked at peoples rude driving skills.

All i am saying is we cannot control those around us and what they do. we can only control and are only accountable for OURSELVES.

if watching tv or going to the movies causes you to become immuned to where it effects your relationship with God and others, abstain. if you think the whole world is wrong for allowing tv and movies etc. do what you can to stop it. good luck becasue the bible says things are only going to get worse. so do what you can and be the best you can be. and don't sweat the small stuff.

BB you don't vote for the organization you vote for issues they present. they send me every week things I can vote on. and because of enough people voting they have been able to get certain TV programs OFF the air such as "Daniel Series"
I am not attacking you, so don't play martyr with me.I am attacking your message and idea's. if i was attacking you i would be calling you names. big difference.
This is for anyone not just you.

They send me stuff to VOTE on, so i can make a difference in this world instead of sitting on my duff complaining about all the evil in this world. if more people spent more time witnessing and making a difference in peoples lives everyday, than spending countless hours on boards or the computer. we may just be making a bigger impact now wouldn't we?

    Frenchy,

I like your zeal. [IMG] I really do. I wish more folks had your passion.

Do not be deceived. Evil communications corrupt good manners. This isn't just some weakness that a few people have. This is a universal, non-optional principle.

you can say that about anything don't go out of your house for three months and see how people dress you will be shocked all over again. don't go to a christian book store for three months then go in and be surprised at the selection of music displayed, or even worse played on the speaker. don't drive on the freeways for three months then take a 6 hour trip better yet just go take a drive and be shocked at peoples rude driving skills.

You're absolutely right. And it's a good practice to take a sabbatical, if I may use the term, once in a while to refresh ourselves. In fact, we should abstain from amusements and regular business and devote ourselves to the word of God and prayer once a week.

Thanks Aaron, I understand where you, BB and Bapmom are comming from. just being the Devils advicate and believe balance is the key for most all things. My husband and i are strong enough christians to not allow what we see or hear to effect us that much (as far as sinning). now maybe as a new believer that may not have been true. that is why a good understanding of Romans 14 comes into play. become too sensitive to things, means you can be too judgmental. and the opposite is true. we need to be aware of our surroundings not condoning sin at the same time be loving and understanding to those around us who may not have the same standards. [IMG]

I thought i would take this subject a step further so i started a new one, on NUDITY.

Romans 14 does not say that you have liberty to keep evil companions. And if you can walk across my garden without getting dirt on your feet, then I'll believe that you and your husband can walk in this world without getting spotted. ;)

Who said anything about keeping evil companions. are you refering to the TV? i take it you are NOT talking about the computer of which you are on right now. You are in control of what you let your eyes see and ears hear. the computer isn't much different than the TV.

    Evil communications corrupt good manners.

To be constantly receiving corrupt messages from someone will corrupt you. Don't be deceived. To be a fan is a form of companionship.
