However that being said, there is an old saying; Don't cut off someone's nose and then give them a rose to smell. My pointing out the errors of the RCC is to put to light the fact that they are lost, but not to directly confront them with their false religious system. Jesus used the method of confronting people with their sin, and then giving them the Gospel.

I have debated many Catholics and Christians that are close to Catholics who would rather say "I'm O.K., you're O.K." instead of confronting them with the one true Gospel. They are not their friends.

Many years ago, I went to a funeral at a Catholic church. A co-worker's daughter had died of cancer, leaving a husband and 2 small daughters. It was the first and only time I have been in a Catholic church.

It was very different, and I remember the thing that struck me most was the prayers for the soul of the daughter. I remember thinking, sadly, "It's too late to be praying for her soul". During the funeral, I found myself praying for the Holy Spirit to convict the family of their need of salvation so they wouldn't have to plead with God for the soul of someone after they had died.

I would not have missed going, even though I didn't agree with what was happening. It was a comfort for the dad and the family to see so many of the co-workers there.

JackRUs, What i think you are saying is we should confront their false beliefs but do it in a way that will lead them to Christ..
If so, I agree. But we can't just lump all RCs into a category and say they all are doomed to Hell. I know some that trust Christ as savior. The local Priest preaches salvation by Christ alone.

The other extreme is what I am talking about..
you know the type that confront people and tell them upfront,
"You are going to Hell, you heathen, but I've got good news... I just saved alot on my car insu.....oops too many geico commercials"

Calling people names is a great way to show them we love them.

And I've been thinking, would you go to a lost person's funeral that was held in a Baptist church? According to some's logic here, that to should be blasphemous.. I mean if he didn't want to come to church while living, why make him when he is dead?
