Marcia: Jesus paid for the penalty of sin at the cross and was a propitiation for our sins.

Jesus' work and death on the cross allows us to be forgiven through faith. If we had to pay the debt, we'd have to go to hell.

I am certain we would disagree on what that payment entailed and to whom it was made and as to what precisely did it cover, but that aside, we can rejoice in the agreement.
