This example is about the specific NSA program. Here is a description from the Quaker web site.

Pentagon Spying on Quaker Meeting House
Draft Counselors at Lake Worth, Florida Quaker Meeting House called "Threat"

"A year ago, at a Quaker Meeting House in Lake Worth, Fla., a small group of activists met to plan a protest of military recruiting at local high schools. What they didn't know was that their meeting had come to the attention of the U.S. military."

    ~NBC News Report
The Pentagon acknowledged in mid-December the existence of a secret spying program in the United States that involves surveillance of Quaker meeting houses, AFSC regional offices, and other peace groups engaged in constitutionally protected, peaceful activities.

NBC News first reported the existence of this Pentagon program that included spying on public meetings of a draft counseling group meeting at a Quaker Meeting House in Lake Worth, Florida. Read the secret Pentagon document which includes a summary of surveillance of "counter military recruitment planning meeting" at Quaker Meeting House in Lake Worth, Florida that is listed as a "threat"

The Northeast Ohio American Friends Service Committee says the documents also reveal that the Pentagon spied on their meetings.

    FCNL Demands a Congressional Investigation
Read FCNL Executive Secretary Joe Volk's letter to Florida Senators Mel Martinez and Bill Nelson requesting congressional hearings on the Pentagon's domestic spying program and the possible violations of unalienable rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights which may have occurred at Lake Worth, FL and other locations.

    SAN,

Sincerely WADR, it is a completely different program, is it not, from the wiretapping program that has been in the news and the subject of SO MANY of Ken's threads here? Seriously, am I missing something that ties these two together?

I'm not sure what you mean. This is about evesdropping on communications between Americans. That is where the real constitutional issue in Bush's program arises. Even if this were a different program (don't know what you mean by that) it's still something the government is doing which I believe to be unconstitutional. I'll give it to you. Bush is breaking the law under two programs. OK?
